"Hi." Lavender raised her hand in a half wave. "So, yes, Crup fighting rings. Earlier this year, Hit Wizards shut down an operation in Belfast. Before that we've seen similar incidences in Swansea, Glasgow, Bristol... But at the moment the only one we're aware of is right here in London."
None of the business owners looked shifty, thank goodness. But that was why they were here at the Local Business Bureau - these people had their livelihoods here and they presumably wouldn't want it soured by underworld animal cruelty. "As Susan said, we believe that this is happening somewhere in the vicinity of Monument Alley. We're all aware of this street's shady past and it looks like some of that past is catching up with us."
Lavender wasn't as confident as speaking in front of large groups of people as Susan seemed to be, but she ploughed on regardless. "It seems to be the case that the Crup fighting is taking place on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. So if any of you have seen anything at all unusual, we would really love to hear about it. And it doesn't matter how small it might seem; we'll be the ones to judge the relevance of any information we receive."
