RP: paperwork & wine at the pub
WHO: Cho + OPEN.
WHEN: Thursday, November 13th, evening.
WHERE: Finnigan's Pub, Monument Alley.
WHAT: Cho is going over the month's books (every month by the 15th!) at the pub with a large glass of wine.
RATING: sfw.
STATUS: Ongoing.

Cho had a monthly tradition. Wine, accounting books, and receipts at the pub. Every month she paid her bills (her rent to Melinda's family and her business expenses to various venders and companies and of course the landlord Richard) in the third week, so she balanced everything before and after. All her receipts and muggle note pads and magic scrolls were spread out along her small table and her glass of Zinfandel balanced on top of her stack of recent ledgers. In truth, Cho sort of liked these evenings - it was quiet, and generally people would stop and say hello but they recognized she was working and she never had to put on her bright smile or her professional "social butterfly" persona for more than a moment or two. It nearly reminded her of marathon study sessions back at Hogwarts - her head bent over a book along with Mel and Mari, tucked into a corner of the library.

Of course here he had wine, which was infinitely better.

Taking the last sip of her glass she stood and went to the bar for her second, putting on a smile and also ordering a dinner of stuffed mushrooms and a tomato & mozzarella salad. With her new glass she headed back to the table and got back to work, hoping to at least finish with the inputs before her meal arrived.

Finbar loved attention, always had, even though the past couple of years with Ruby’s erratic behaviour he had preferred the attention to be on anything but his private life. Still, he loved it, and he loved praise, but something about the blush in Cho’s cheeks after she had complimented his dedication made this praise feel like years’ worth comprised into just a single sentence. Maybe it was because he knew her to be a die-hard Tornados fan and that while she didn’t object to his company, she wasn’t opposed to it or seeming to crave or demand it like some of the fans did. “They’re dedicated,” he mused and took another drink. “I’d just prefer them to have their off days separately instead of this solidarity shite.” He couldn’t blame them, though; Merlin knew he’d had his share of off days the past years. But tie’ing was one thing. Tie’ing against the Falcons, his first ever team and one he just hadn’t meshed with, was… it was bloody humiliating was what it was.

Cho, however, was like an antidote to that humiliation. She excited him, yet at the same time let a calm fall upon him, and his interest in her wasn’t just polite, it was genuine and he couldn’t wait to know more, though he was willing to give her all the time she needed to open up. Her small joke had him chuckling softly as he shook his head. “I wonder if they know they all have the same party planner?” he mused, glad to hear that she’d been doing at least alright, though at the same time concerned about busy time that was coming up. Their lunch together had been the result of him attempting to ask her out on a date, only to find that she would be working, and with Christmas coming up he could only assume that dates would be harder to plan.

“Been… busy,” he summed up his past weeks with a bit of a sigh. “Probably still am, but tonight I just don’t care.” Between practice and Ruby and solicitors he was going to enjoy everything slow tonight to the fullest. “The journals are good for a lot of things, but they don’t give you the smiles and the blushes that makes meeting you tonight so special. Although,” he smiled at her, “those small notes from you have brightened several days the past couple of weeks.”

Cho laughed, "I thought teams were all about 'solidarity shite' - at least for the rest of the team. Luckily as a Seeker I never really ad to worry about. Just keep track of the score and swoop in when I'm needed." Cho was confident in her abilities a Seeker, she'd been fast and lithe and almost balletic, she knew.

Shaking her head she couldn't help but laugh again, "It wouldn't be very good for business if I told them all I was working for their enemies, would it? But there are only so many event planners and only so many old traditional families, so I bet they know. Willful ignorance is a talent of theirs I bet."

Cho's mouth dropped in surprise, "I do not blush!" She scoffed out in denial. But she softened and smiled at him again, gently, "I'm glad I could brighten things up for you, though I don't see how occasional notes whinging about the rich and the snobby would do it."

She liked sending messages back and forth with him, to be honest with herself. She enjoyed spending time with him. Of course, she wasn't quite sure what to do about that. It had been years since she'd done more than maybe have a one night stand, she hadn't bothered dating since just after her NEWTs, and that was with Roger of all men. Add to all of this the fact that the object of her... Affection was married. And famous. And older. And married.
