The beauty of owning a club was that when you wanted to work to music when it wasn't open you had an amazing sound system. Well, as long as he left the door to his soundproofed office open. He'd propped it open with the usual carved rock so the rock music mix he'd put on upstairs (at a much lower volume than when the club was open) was audible.

He glanced at the clock on the wall and closed up the newspaper he'd been glancing through to waste time until Rose or the delivery arrived. Both were due in the next few minutes and that meant Bobbi was probably waiting at the back door too. Sure enough as he came out into the main room and flicked his wand to shut off the music he could hear the banging on the door. He made his way down the stairs and aimed his wand in the right direction to release the wards and let her in.

She bounced in a few seconds later, bleached blonde hair sticking up in every which direction as usual. He'd be sad to see her go when her new job started up. "Hey, bossman," she said, going over to dump her coat and backpack on the bar. "Newbie not arrived yet?"

"Hey, Bobbi," he replied, giving her smile. "No, she should be here soon though. She offered to help out if you're not done when we are."

"Depends how long it takes, and I'm fucking off quickly when I'm done. Got at date with that lady from last week. We've been owling." She was grinning, obviously pleased, so Charlie returned her smile, pleased for her.

"Well you have fun later, and come get me to sign for the drinks. I stuck the fruit in the back for you to sort out." She gave him a quick salute and headed for the back room behind the bar. Charlie went to head for a perch on one of the stools to wait for Rose to appear.

Sometimes, helping out Rolf with The Beastiary’s books felt a bit like cheating. Not that helping him with the books was cheating, but because it was just too easy. From what Rose had understood, what was driving people mad about doing books was ensuring that the right numbers were in the right places, and since she remembered the base numbers after a quick read-through, that wasn’t really a problem for her. And that felt like cheating. Then again, since she had it, why shouldn’t she use it?

That was also what had led her to offer her help when Charlie Weasley had asked for help, and though it was pure coincidence, she made the way down Monument Alley right after she had finished checking books for Rolf. Not one to really be concerned what people thought of the way she dressed, she had gone for something not quite as revealing as she sometimes might, with her burgundy leather pants and a fitted black shirt under her leather jacket. It seemed fitting for a club, even outside opening hours.

“Charlie?” she asked the man with the red hair she recognised from Bill, figuring that there wouldn’t be that many redheaded men just waiting around Wingbeat on a day like today.

Charlie grinned and nodded at the young woman he opened the front door to, offering his hand to her. He was amused by her outfit, something that wouldn't have looked out of place when the club was open. Then again Bill had tended in that direction too when he spent all of his time in the field.

"That'd be me. You must be Rose, good to meet you. Come on in and I'll ward this one back up. Delivery guys will come to the back and Bobbi should be able to sign for that unless they've sent the arsehole this week!" No point in allowing his language to be anything but what it was, he only curbed it for children and his parents. Plus anyone in her business probably knew a few choice words from when things went tits-up.

"Welcome to daytime in a club," he said, gesturing to the rather better lit than usual room. "Just let me tell Bobbi we're heading for the office," he said and went and stuck his head around the door to the store room and did just that.

"It's upstairs," he offered.
