Re: Dennis and Genie and Open
"Camping during the full moon is definitely an experience," she said, and it wasn't a lie at all. "A nice cosy fire is always appreciated." And there had been one, too. Alexander always had one going once it got cooler, and with Wolfsbane it was possible to curl up next to it some of the time in wolf form and enjoy it. "Yeah, the country air is good for her, but she's poorly, so she often needs extra attention. But we love her and even if it's hard, we don't really mind." The whole pack doted on Violet, even Galahad who tended to be selfish.
She pouted her lips at him. "Not even a little bit straight?" she wheedled playfully, holding her finger and thumb just a little bit apart. She generally really couldn't help herself, and it always threw her just a little off to be turned down though this good humor was the best way. "Aww, you're sweet," she said, smiling at him.
"We probably did," she said, her gaze much sharper and assessing as she looked him over, the flecks of gold in the brown starker as she felt the wolf stir protectively. Come to think, he did look familiar; she had the sinking feeling he'd been in Gryffindor with her. If asked, she couldn't have said why she shied away from being identified as herself. Every time she thought about it, she could only remember sending those few owls to her family and never hearing back. Back in those days, she'd mostly gone by Imogene or Immy or some variation of that, though, except in her family. She was going to have to get over the reaction, but she'd not been back among many people she'd have run into back then very long yet, so it was still... a process.
