Next time wear flats. They don't compromise your ankles like heels do. But if you insist on heels, get ones with thicker heels. More surface area for weight and pressure is good. Wedges are also good. And you need to be sure to not elongate your stride. You actually have to shorten it a bit slash take smaller steps. Straps that fasten around the heel are also good and keep your foot from slipping around. And don't forget to maintain good posture!
