The initial nerves of meeting up with Theodore had mostly dissipated by now, which meant that at the next smile, Ernie's stomach started to flutter for completely different reasons. For a moment he wondered how awkward it would be to ask a bloke on a date at a cafe and not to be able to eat, but he knew better - Gwen Macmillan's son had always had a solid appetite, and the stomach to show for it.
"Packing?" He remembered Theodore being worried about having lost his job, so it shouldn't have been a surprise that he'd moved. At least he wasn't alone, and hopefully his friend was understanding of his sleepwalking. "I hope the move went well. Sometimes it's nice to live with someone else, there's always another person there to cook with and to talk to whenever you want." Not that Ernie knew much about living with others - he was an only child and had lived alone ever since he'd left home, and only at Hogwarts had he ever had to share a space with others.
"Not much here. I did a Sunday shift, so I really only had Saturday off. I read a little, listened to the wireless, cooked a chicken pot pie. It was comfortable at least."
The waitress returned to get their orders, and Ernie asked for a Chamomile tea and some chicken parmagiana. He looked to Theodore to find out what the other man wanted.
