Lucy took the cup with careful fingers, looking curious at the idea that her father might have other secrets. He, on the other hand, looked like he was quite happy keeping his secrets to himself. "Thankfully, tiny ears don't always hear the worst of it."
He watched Penelope and Lucy, how Penny watched over his daughter and wanting to protect her costume. It made him feel warm inside and happy that he had such a friend in their life. There were few people he would trust to care for Lucy and Penny was one of them - hell, he trusted her more than some of his brothers. And watching them together, he knew Penelope would make a wonderful mother some day. "Be careful with your juice, Pumpkin."
He took the proferred apple and looked it over sceptically, as it looked rather sweet. He would eat it either way, if only because Penelope had made it, but he was still mindful of the sugar content. And then Penelope gave him that look, and he knew he was in trouble. He spotted Lucy working on her apple and beginning to wander about the house, looking for some music.
"I would hope she'd choose something classical, but I'm afraid my siblings may have corrupted her taste in music."
