Re: Snakes and rats and smoke, oh my!
When the frogs dispersed back into smoke again, Lavender was both relieved and apprehensive to see what would happen next. Then, she settled decisively on apprehensive as it formed into granite-like figures.
She made a quick decision, which was maybe not the smartest one in the world, and left her left her post at the base of the stairs. As soon as she set foot on them, her Disillusionment Charm was stripped away, though it took her another step to notice. Damn. Now she and Hyperion were easy targets. "Bollocks."
One of the sentinels swivelled to face her, somehow staring her down even without a proper face. A purple streak of a spell hit the stone banister about a foot in front of her; Lavender was almost offended by the sloppy aiming of whichever of their opponents was trying to take them out. She crouched down low to make herself less of a target. Another of the sentinels turned turned in her direction, the first shifting back to face Hyperion. Lavender frowned. "I think they might be confused that there's two of us."
