RP: Cho and Finbar
Who: Cho Chang and Finbar Quigley
What: Lunch
Where: Charming Parties’ offices in Diagon Alley
When: 22. October – around noon
Rating: SFW

With a smirk, Finbar closed his journal; sure Cho had asked him a question, but the food he had ordered had just been delivered, and wouldn’t it be a shame to waste an ice breaker such as this on the journal? Finbar gave a small wave and a nod after he had paid and made his way down Monument Alley, turning down Diagon Alley easily finding his way to the address Cho had given him.

Knocking on the door, he waited a beat before he opened the door and smiled when he spotted Cho. “By people who interest me I mean, I don’t bring lunch to just anybody on a high holy Wednesday such as today,” he smirked as he came inside and closed the door behind him.

At his confident-but-not-cocky reply Cho felt herself slip into a more comfortable position. He really didn't seem to want anything, though she still couldn't figure out why he was showing so much interest. Maybe it was just that: interest. It had been a long time since Cho had needed to make new friends, Ravenclaw pretty much having done that for her in first year, and the Hufflepuff boys she'd met through Cedric had just sort of adopted her. But just the other night she'd had a fabulous time with her hairdresser at a concert in Tokyo. So, why not? Her face relaxed, her posture getting more natural as well. "Yeah, you should. It's not much - a bunch of old furniture we've collected in the last couple of years, but Mel is the best baker in Wizarding London and usually brings snacks."

She made a face at the thought of pregnancy cravings. "You really haven't been back long have you? What made you decide it was time? I hate to admit it but the only thing I know about you other than your quidditch stats is what the gossip columns print." She added quickly, "I know not to believe all of that stuff, I've had my own bad press before," and gave him an understanding, small smile.

"It sounds like your house it a bit mad. It was really just Mum & Me & Father growing up. Mum's got a big pureblood family, on her Scottish side, but we kind of did our own thing. And my Dad's family is in Hong Kong, so I only really see them for New Years." Of course, she meant Chinese New Years, but figured he'd get it.

She shrugged and popped another chip into her mouth, "I like to read, and I love Muggle movies. Plus Mel and Marietta, my best girl friends, we all keep each other from becoming too... anti-social, ya ken? Roger keeps us on our toes, too," she laughed. Now that she had to think about it, though, it really had become her default to just keep to herself, unless she was already out and about. When had that happened? "Of course," she added, "There's always a Tornadoes game to catch or stats to catch up on." Her smiled turned a little bit wicked, reminding him of her favorite team.

“Uhm…” Finbar chuckled with a shrug. “I wouldn’t say I’m back, since other than the years at school, I’ve never lived outside Ireland, but no, you’re right, I haven’t been in London very long. The short version of what made me decide would be that I followed the DMLE’s advice, and the full version will require your patience and open mind, which sounds… worse than it actually is. It’s just a long story.” He cleared his throat and looked at Cho. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to tell her, he just wasn’t sure if she really did want to hear it. “Somehow I find it hard to believe that you’d get bad press, but then, I haven’t read the gossip pages since, well, since my first year with the Bats. I pay my publicist to do that, and then she suggests steps to take if they get too out of line.”

“A bit mad is one way to describe it,” he grinned, because really? His immediate family included more people than was on a regular family’s full family tree. “D’you go to Hong Kong to celebrate or does your family come here?” he asked, genuinely interested to get to know Cho, though not really sure why, other than he felt an attraction to her. What better reason was there to getting to know someone anyway?

Cho appeared to have relaxed quite a bit and as she first let a small, entirely Scottish bit slip and then laughed afterwards, Finbar was sold. Completely and utterly melted, finding it some of the most charming he had seen or heard from a witch in, well, a long time. “Yah, I ken,” he said, then smirked and amended. “Or rather, oi nu,” he said, leaving the proper English behind and slipping back into the Irish lilt that was the way his family spoke in private. “Ah, yes, the Tornados. Another proof that nobody’s perfect,” he teased gently. “We’re playing them in November, if you’d like to go. And before you say no, just know that I can get tickets for you in the Tornados section.”
