For a brief moment, Finbar considered coming up with some phony holy day and turn the whole thing into a joke with Cho, but there was something in her look that had him stop; she really thought today was a holy day? While the Quigleys were Catholic, it had been at least two generations since it had been observed meticulously and now it was more tradition than actual religion. “No,” his smirk softened into a bit of a smile as he set the bags of food on the nearest desk. “It’s just Wednesday today, though I’m sure if we looked at a calendar it’s a holy day somewhere in the world.”
“Surprise?” Finbar’s eyebrows raised slightly at that statement. “I mean, you’re welcome, but having someone bring over lunch when you’re busy is a surprise?” Slowly, he shook his head, incredulous. No, he hardly knew Cho, but he’d like to, or at least figure out if she was someone he wanted to get to know – and so far he hadn’t seen anything to make him think that he wouldn’t. Pausing for a beat, just looking at her – because really? How couldn’t he not look at her? She was gorgeous! – he gestured for her to take a seat before he began unpacking the bags.
