Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:character: allegra rosier, character: gemma farley

Who: Allegra Rosier, Gemma Farley (NPC Lucy)
What: Gemma visits with Legs and Lu
Where: Rosier Manor
When: Tuesday evening
Rating: NSFW to be safe. They sort of press the bounds of good taste when together.

Not knowing exactly when Gemma would arrive, Allegra had opted not to tell Lucy. The little girl was calmly coloring at the coffee table after having spent a pleasant day looking at art.

"Did you have a nice day?" Allegra asked her daughter, speaking Italian as she did when they were alone.

"Yes, Mama. I liked the coffee shop!"

Allegra had enjoyed that too. The young man behind the counter had treated them as if they were two friends out for a coffee, and not a mother and small child, and Lucy had practically vibrated with the joy of being treated like a grown up.

"What do you fancy for dinner, Luce mia?" she asked, just as a noise from the grate caught Lucy's attention.

Gemma's day had been long but lucrative. Her donation to the raffle the other week had brought about a bit of publicity for the salon, which had translated to being more booked than ever. Perhaps she might need to look into hiring another person sometime soon, but that would depend on how long the boost would last.

By the time she was finished the last updo, she was starving, and not knowing if Allegra would have eaten, she decided to stop for take-out. She bought enough to feed the three of them if supper hadn't been served, and if it had, then she'd have plenty of leftovers for at home.

She flooed over from the restaurant and stepped out of the fireplace, brushing off leftover soot from the trip. "Where's that little Cinderella? Has she turned back into a maid yet?" she called out. She'd thought of Lucy as Cinderella ever since she'd found out she was going to be a godmother - if she was going to be one, why not be a fairy godmother?

"Auntie Gem!" Lucy sprung up and wrapped her arms around Gemma's waist. She made a production of looking very put upon, but a part of her liked the kid's affection - at least in moderation.

"Here, I've got something for you to try on." She handed the girl a small bag containing a souvenir from the concert on Saturday, a Weird Sisters shirt in her size. "I got one for your Mama too, but I don't know if she'll wear it much." She tossed another bag toward Allegra before grinning and aiming for the kitchen.

"I brought food, by the way. Have you eaten? I'm starving."

"I do so love it when you call my child a ragamuffin cinder-soot," Allegra drawled, but she walked over and hugged her friend nonetheless. She took the bag Gemma offered her and, just to prove her wrong, she unbuttoned her blouse and pulled the shirt over her head, poking her tongue out slightly above Lucy's head.

Lucy, for her part, wearing a little dress, couldn't exactly pull her top off to trade it for the shirt so she compromised by putting it on over her dress. "now I look like Mamma!" she said. "Thank you Auntie Gem!" She lifted her arms to be picked up. Most five year olds might have been a bit big for that sort of treatment, but Lucy had always been a tiny little thing, right from birth, and she loved to be cuddled and held. Allegra privately hoped it would be a long time before she grew out of that.

"What did you bring for dinner, Auntie Gem?" Lucy asked, snuggling into Gemma's arms and resting her head in the crook of Gemma's neck.

"Yes, Auntie Gem, what did you bring?" Allegra asked.

Gemma had just placed the takeout bags onto the counter when Lucy came over to her with her arms held out. Gemma lifted an eyebrow at her, again making a production of resisting - it wouldn't do for the kid to expect everything handed to her because life simply didn't work that way - but when the kid simply wouldn't leave, she gave in with a heaving sigh.

"Some spaghetti from that place on Diagon that makes the really good garlic bread. Enough for everyone if you're interested. Unless of course I decide to eat Lucy instead." She then growled and made as if to 'eat' Lucy's neck, then lifted her up and slung the child over her shoulder. It was always an advantage to have kept herself in shape even if she didn't play quidditch anymore. "What do you say, Mama? Should I drag her back to my lair and eat her all up?"

Over the sounds of Lucy's delighted squeals, Allegra laughed. "Oh, if you must you must," she played along. "Only do leave me her face, will you? Because I have often said I could just eat that face all up."

She moved in close to Gemma so that she could press kisses to Lucy's rapidly reddening face. "And I suppose you better leave some for Daddy, because he'd be awfully upset if we ate Lucy all up without him... but aside from that yes, drag away."

"I like s'ghetti, Auntie Gem," Lucy said, still catching her breath and choking on stray giggles.

"Spa-ghetti," Allegra corrected, gently but firmly.

"Spa-ghetti," Lucy repeated obediently.

"Good girl." Allegra picked her wand up off the coffee table and flicked it, setting the table. She opened her mouth to say something snide about the way muggles would have had to do that all by hand, but then she remembered Lucy was sitting right there, and she really didn't want to say anything that might get repeated to Percy and piss him off right now.

"So how was your day, Auntie Gem?" she asked, taking Lucy from Gemma and sitting down with the little girl curled up in her lap.

Gemma rolled her eyes at the mention of Daddy. Honestly, she didn't even understand why Allegra had even told the Prat she was pregnant in the first place. Didn't she know women were perfectly capable of doing it all on their own? Her own mother had, and Gemma had turned out rather well if she said so herself.

Once the wiggling child was taken from her, she went around the kitchen as if she lived there - she was over often enough that she knew the place rather well - and accio'd three plates down to dole out pasta among them. Once the dishes were full and she had placed pieces of garlic bread on them - it really was to die for - she levitated them over to the table.

"Busy, which is good," she said as she sat down where her own plate had landed. "It's a good thing for my bank account that everyone wants to be beautiful. Not everyone's as lucky to do it as naturally as we do," she said with a wink.

"And how're things around here? Aside from nights out, that is." She twirled spaghetti around her fork and did her best to look innocent after that particular comment.

Allegra shot a warning look at Gemma at that last comment, but Lucy thankfully hadn't noticed. She was busily eating spaghetti, twirling it around her fork with a spoon to aid her, as Allegra had taken pains to teach her. Even so, within mere moments, the child's face was covered in sauce.

Well, she was happy, Allegra told herself.

"I don't know that I want to talk about that," she said softly. "But I've got some other news... news that I don't think you're going to like. But that too, will have to wait until little ears are resting."

"Daddy's got a new job," Lucy announced. "That means I get to stay with Grandma while Daddy's at work, instead of going to work with him. He's going to work with the Muggle Pry-Minster." She took a mouthful of spaghetti, chewed, swallowed, then went on. "Auntie Gem, can I go to work with you one day?"

Gemma grinned, knowing she'd gotten to Allegra, but also knowing that Lucy was the only thing keeping them from talking properly. She doubted Lucy would be going to bed on time tonight.

She snickered at Lucy's bragging about her father's new job - until she revealed just what that job entailed. Now Gemma had never been a pureblood supremacist of any sort. She was half-blood on her mother's side, and didn't know anything about her father so he very well could have been Muggleborn for all she knew. In the end, it didn't matter what the words meant for her - she knew Allegra was going to go spare.

"If you eat your vegetables and clean up your room, maybe you can spend a day at the spa helping people look pretty. But you said Daddy has a new job? Did you mean the Prime-Minister?" Oh, how she wished she had some way of capturing the fireworks that were no doubt about to come.

"That's what I said, the Pry-Minster," Lucy said impatiently. Allegra reached over and nudged her, frowning slightly. ""Sorry," Lucy said, apologizing for her tone. Allegra didn't allow her daughter to speak disrespectfully to adults. "I don't really understand his new job. He didn't tell me much, just that I'm not allowed to go because I'm too little."

"She can't go because she doesn't have a handle on her magic yet, obviously, and Pr- Percy can't take the chance of her giving the game away in front of the muggles," Allegra clarified for Gemma.

Gemma nodded. "Well, it sounds like some fancy-schmancy job that you wouldn't want anyway, Lucy Goosey. Government work is boring, you've much better taste than that." She took a good bite of her spaghetti, thinking on the matter as she chewed.

"So does this mean you'll get Lucy longer? Since you've the time to spare and all that."

"Daddy says that government work is we-rarding. I think that means it's fun for grown ups," Lucy said matter-of-factly, adjusting her tone so as not to attract Allegra's further ire.

"No, she'll be going to his mother," Allegra told Gemma. "It wouldn't be fair for me to keep her during the day if it's his week, because I have a job where I can take her with me. It would mean I got her seventy five percent of the time, effectively, and that's not what we agreed on."

No matter how she felt about Percy's parents, she was determined to keep everything equal and equitable between them, because the second she started being unreasonable, it opened the door for him to be unreasonable, and that was the last thing she wanted.

Well, Gemma could see the logic in that, at least. Privately, though, she felt like fairness was overrated. Perhaps it was best to get onto another topic of conversation, then try to get the kid out of the room so that she could question Allegra about this wonderful sex partner of hers.

"So Lucy, have you decided what to be for Hallowe'en?"

"Yes!" Lucy bounced in excitement. "I'm going to be a winged horse! Daddy is getting the costume and the wings are going to flap and everything! Except he said I can't bring kitty."

And that was Gemma's opening. "Speaking of which, I haven't seen the little furball since I got here. You should go look for him, hmmm?"

Raising an eyebrow, Allegra shook her head slightly. She knew exactly what Gemma was trying to do, and as long as Lucy's temper and patience held up, she wasn't going to allow it to happen.

"Cerberus is sleeping, darling. Leave him be and we'll have some ice cream, how does that sound?"

It was the work of a few moments for her to dish up ice cream for her daughter, but unfortunately, the work of mere minutes for Lucy to demolish it. All too soon, Lucy was asking if she could leave the table, and Allegra really had no good reason to say no.

"All right," she grumbled. "I'll put her to bed, and then you'll have me all to yourself. I know you're dying to interrogate me."

Gemma was a patient woman - she wouldn't have gotten to where she was if she wasn't. Lucy, however, was also reliable and predictable, which made waiting all the easier.

When Allegra returned, Gemma didn't speak. She simply sat there and looked at her with a raised eyebrow, waiting to see how long it would take for her friend to break.

"I know what you want, and you're going to have to get me a lot drunker before I'm going to just... dish," Allegra said.

Her tone was resigned, though. Gemma had a way of breaking her own and making her say and do things she thought she had no intention of saying or doing. She just had that sort of effect on Allegra. It was maddening, really.

Her excuses all gone, she sat down next to Gemma and sighed. "You pour. I'll answer... within reason."

Gemma didn't even bother getting out of her seat, she simply took out her wand to accio over a bottle of firewhiskey and two tumblers. She set them out and poured the amber-coloured drink, then slid one over to Allegra. The other she picked up to take a nice, long sip, relishing the warmth that slid down her throat.

Again, she didn't speak. Her eyes said more than her voice ever could, plus staring was such an excellent way to weedle information from Allegra.

Oh no. This was not going to work, not this time. She threw her firewhiskey back and stared at Gemma, refusing to give in. But Gemma's steady gaze was unnerving to say the least. This was how she tended to win most arguments - by staring Allegra down until she was sufficiently creeped out and gave in.

"Stop that," she said primly. "I'm not just going to blurt everything out on command, you know. I'm not that kind of girl. I don't kiss and tell."

In an attempt to change the subject, or at least distract Gemma, she resorted to a tactic that had worked more than once in the past - she shifted closer and kissed her with enough fire, she hoped, to take Gemma's mind off Allegra's previous indiscretions.

Gemma snorted. Oh, Allegra was definitely the kind to kiss and tell, with the right prodding. Her friend was dying to tell the tale, and all Gemma had to do was wait.

Gemma kissed back, smiling against Allegra's lips as she reached out for her waist. She shifted her hand so that her thumb just grazed the underside of one breast before pulling back from the kiss. She licked her lips, flicked her thumb against Allegra's nipple, then leaned back into her chair.

She sipped again from her firewhiskey and looked at Allegra overtop of the rim. It would take more than that to distract her.
