Harry batted his eyes again, and pretended to swoon. "All my dreams have come true." The joke fell flat as Ron's mind seemed to be elsewhere, probably on Hermione.
"Your birthday was seven months ago," Harry pointed out, bemused that Ron had had the ring so long and not mentioned it. "You're not afraid she'll say no, are you?" He could understand Ron being nervous over getting the proposal right, but not over Hermione's answer. But then, he'd never gotten close to entertaining marriage with anyone, even Ginny, so what did he know about it?
He remembered the case; it hadn't been his but he knew it had been bad. "Should have been able to put that together myself," he said after a moment. He knew all about not being able to shake a case.
