It had been a hard match, no doubt about that, but good Godric it had been a well-played match. The Wasps were obviously refusing to simply roll over and accept their position at the bottom of the league, but Pride wasn’t about to let their own descent continue, and that had resulted in one hell of a match. Of course it also meant that Alicia and the rest of the Healer team had had their hands full afterwards, patching up various bruises and splits, a couple of fractures and uncountable numbers of sprains, pulled muscles and sore joints. But they had won. No, they hadn’t just won. They had won, and though the main reason for the smile on Alicia’s face as she had hurried into her little black dress was the wonderful man she was meeting tonight, the victory made it difficult to keep from dancing around while she applied her make-up.
She Apparated to the Foundation office, and from there made her way down Monument Alley, spotting Adrian almost immediately, though held back a little to give him time to finish his cigarette. It wasn’t a habit that she was particularly thrilled about, especially since it usually signalled that he was stressing, but she didn’t want him apologising for it either. So once he had put it out and she had seen him tuck his wand away again, she went up to him, her smile brightening when she caught his eyes. “Hey, babe,” she greeted him, taking his hand as she stepped in for a kiss, loving her high heels for the added height. “Hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long.”
