RP: Lunch
Who: Susan and Adrian

What: Susan stops by Adrian's flat for potions and Thai food

Where: Monument Alley

When: Lunch time

Rating: SFW, but flirting?

Susan walked briskly up to Adrian's flat, glad that she'd taken the time that morning to dress nicely for the occasion - even if doing so had earned her a quirked eyebrow and a sarcastic comment from Harry and some of the other aurors at the office, not to mention a comment from a drunk patron exiting Finnigan's that very nearly earned him an extended stay in St Mungo's. Adrian always dressed nicely, and while her finely tuned Hufflepuff sensibilities told her that she needn't worry about such things, she couldn't quite bring herself to turn up for lunch with such an interesting person wearing an outfit that essentially screamed 'I am here to end you.'

Shaking her head slightly, she plastered on a smile and knocked on the door.

Knowing he'd be seeing clients today, he'd spent the morning cleaning up the flat and using some of Alicia's favorite smell-away charms on his lab. He'd then thrown on a plain silvery suit and crisp white button up - no tie, because he was still in his flat, after all.

When he heard the knock on the door, he figured it was Susan and took her box of potions from the floor and put it on the bar that split the kitchen from the living room and went answer her knock. Leaning against the door in a relaxed but not lecherous way, he greeted her, "Auror Bones, thanks for coming by," and stood back to let her in. Watching her pass he couldn't help but admire her, she had grown into the most gorgeous Auror in the Ministry, that was for sure. "I have your orders right over here, including the burn salves, just don't tell your friend over at St. Mungos, he might think I'm horning in."

Adrian gave her a bright smile and moved toward the kitchen. "For lunch we have Cilantro Chicken and Spicy Noodles, Pad Thai of course, Miso Soup, and Orange Duck."

Susan smiled at him brightly, taking a moment to take in the rather nice suit and relaxed demeanour. "Please, you can call me Susan," she said with a toss of her bright hair. "I'm not here to bust down your door and hex you into next Tuesday." She walked into the flat, noting as usual that he'd made pains to make it clean and presentable for his various clients. There was something to be said for a man who could dress nicely and took the effort to make his home presentable. "Thank you so much," she said, laughing at the mention of Ernie. "You're a champion for throwing in those salves - I can apply them myself without anyone mothering me about broken shoulders or being set on fire by dark wizards. Besides, Ernie thinks every man and woman I meet is horning in so..." she ended with a delicate shrug.

Moving towards the kitchen after her ridiculously handsome host, Susan felt her eyebrow quirk at the amount of food on offer. "You've definitely outdone yourself, some of my favourite foods in one sitting! You must let me return the favour sometime."

"Oh no, you'd only be here to do that if you saw what's in my lab," he joked, "All right, Susan." He was raised to be formal, after all, and Aurors and all things Bad-Wizard-Catching were a particularly formal position if you asked him and his family. Not that he wanted to think about why.

"Anytime, I usually keep a back supply of those, the clinic and St. Mungo's floo when they get low and so it's good to have them on hand just in case. What's this about broken shoulders, though?" His eyebrow quirked. She talked so casually about her injuries. "He sounds like a good friend for it, or perhaps more?" He asked with a smirk, not knowing anything about Hufflepuff social circles.

"I'm glad I picked well, and don't worry about it, it's good for business to have you round for lunch, I'd say?" he answered, taking down dishes and opening the redridge, "Anything to drink? I've got pumpkin juice, water, ale..." He rattled off the options, leaning low to look into the ice box, one hand on top of the door.

"Not my division," she replied with a smirk. "Besides, I doubt very much there'd be anything in your lab that would even make me blink." She was fairly certain that Adrian wasn't involved in anything illegal - St Mungo's screened anyone who supplied them with potions fairly closely, and her bullshit detector was pinpoint accurate: Adrian didn't even make a blip. She gave him her most disarming smile, "Shall I call you Adrian then?"

"Well thank you," she said with genuine warmth. There was something to be said for someone who would help you patch yourself off. "Ah yes, the broken shoulder. You see your average big bad seems to think that I'm the easiest target in a pitched battle situation - on account of my height and gender, I'm sure. I take it upon myself to disabuse them of such idiotic notions. Ernie of course, goes into hysterics. But then he's my big gay best friend, so it's kind of his job," she finished with a smirk of her own.

Susan sat down gracefully, accepting a proffered dish. "Really? Well I suppose it'll ensure that I keep ordering potions from you anyway." She smiled at his obvious ease at playing the host. "Water will do nicely, thank you."

"Oh, good then," he gave a mock sigh. Of course, no one would suspect that the neighborhood's respectable potionsmaster was doing anything untoward, right?

Shaking his head at her description he stifled a laugh, "You Law Enforcement types, no regard for your own safety, am I right?" When she made a point of calling Ernie her 'big gay best friend' Adrian made a mental note of it.

"The customer's pleasure is always foremost in my mind," he answered, making himself a plate and indicating she do the same. When he was served, got her a glass of ice water and himself a bottle of light ale, the joys of being self-employed.

"So, how have you been? I haven't been out much lately except to see Alicia and her twins, this time of the season is always hard with potions nearly ready for bottling." He was used to seeing Susan at the bar every so often, but his social life got scarce towards the end of every season, and they'd never particularly social together, anyway, he supposed.

She felt her smirk turn into a genuine smile. "You want someone to suspect you of foul play," she crowed delightedly. "What, add to the whole mysterious and broody thing you have going?"

"What can I say," she said, spreading her hands self-deprecatingly. "Being a big damn hero requires some sacrifices. Besides, it's always so much fun when some idiot thinks that I can't launch myself at him and choke him between my thighs just because I don't appear to have a wand on me."

She smiled at him drolly. "Oh is that what we're calling it now is it?" Obligingly she sat down and loaded up her plate, remembering to give herself more reasonable portions than she would with say, Dean and Seamus. "Imbibing early in the day I see, must be nice to be self employed."

"I've been really good actually," she replied with genuine warmth. "I've been really busy at work, just got a promotion." She smiled, her ears pricking at the mention of Alicia. "How are Alicia and the twins? I haven't spoken to her in forever! More than a week maybe! How've you been though, other than running ragged with potions?"

"Mysterious and broody thing I have going?" Adrian made a face, "Since when do I have a mysterious and broody thing?" Adrian figured he was pretty obvious - he didn't like people and didn't want to be bothered by them. Nothing mysterious in that.

"You would be proud of your ability to choke a man with your thighs, and I can fully admit I'm both turned on and terrified by that fact in this moment. It's quite confusing." He laughed. "As for the customer's pleasure - I'm always interested in pleasure. One of the few good things my parents have imparted upon my sister and I." Pulling a sarcastic look he took a drink of his beer and nodded in agreement. It wasn't like a ale was going to affect him, anyway.

"A promotion, yeah? Where does one go up in the Auror's office?" He knew little of Ministry politics and had kept himself far clear of the Aurors since arriving back in England. He shrugged, a small smile gracing his face in a rare moment of genuine vulnerability as she asked about Alicia, "They're good, starting back to school soon, and we're taking them flying out to Portree soon. Isla is dynamite on the broom, but Liam still needs a bit of coaxing to do anything more than cling to his mother like a barnacle." He shook his head at the mental image.

Shrugging again, he leaned across her to grab at the pad thai, brushing her just barely, "I've been doing well. Having lunch with a lovely, though immensely scary, witch always brightens a man's day." His smile was charming, and if you asked him, hard to resist when paired with a compliment.

"Well," Susan conceded lightly. "Perhaps it's less mysterious and broody, and more vaguely misanthropic and deeply uninterested in people's bullshit, but whatever it is it apparently makes you sexy to a swathe of people I know."

She grinned like a troll coming across a mysteriously abandoned picnic. "The ability to defend oneself when your opponent thinks you are small and defenceless is one of life's great joys," she replied before delicately arching one of her eyebrows. "It's interesting how often those two go together. I'd be happy to show you some of my moves, for self defence purposes of course." She snorted slightly and looked him up and down. "I don't know Adrian, your parents also imparted you with some excellent genes to work with."

"A promotion, yes," she said with a pretty little laugh. "Going up in the Auror office means you go from being on a mission, to leading missions, and from there to planning missions and having a greater scope to investigate things and go undercover, usually with an assigned partner - mine being Potter. From there promotions tend to lead to high level work run by the Minister, the Head of MLE, and the Auror Commander. From there if you're particularly ambitious, or are getting on we tend to end up in high level positions in the MLE and on the Wizengamot." She stopped, suddenly aware that she was rambling about something he probably didn't care about. "Sorry," she said wryly. She smiled at the genuine warmth that crossed the man's face at the mention of Alicia and the twins. "I love Isla, she's such a little spitfire, and Liam is the cutest little thing ever!"

"Well the 'lovely though immensely scary witch' is just happy to be having lunch with a wizard who hasn't either forgotten that she's a woman, or is all too aware of the fact and stares down her top while asking her about a mission," she replied, deeply amused at his admittedly dazzling smile.

"I am in fact quite uninterested in people's bullshit. It's my charm," He laughed. "Is that so?" He asked, "I'm sexy to a swathe of people you know?" He must learn more about this, and at the very least put the knowledge away for later.

"I do imagine people underestimate you to their detriment far too often," he knew he'd never want to run into her in a darkened alley on the wrong side of the law. Laughing again because he couldn't help himself he gave her a surprised look, "Why Miss Bones, are you telling me I'm attractive? To you? The best looking Auror the Ministry has ever had the pleasure of hiring?"

He shook his head and waved off her apology, her ramblings about work sounding much like his own when he and his father got off on a potions tangent. He nodded, "Isla is a handful, I don't know how Alicia does it," he couldn't imagine having children, let alone twins, and alone.

"Though, Susan," he looked her square in the eyes, "I don't think it would be possible to forget you're a woman. You are an incredible example of one."

"I have a strict policy of only caring about the bullshit of the people I like," Susan said, smiling winningly. She returned his laugh with one of her own. "Oh yes, quite a few ladies in Law Enforcement swear black and blue that you left themblack and blue with hickies and lust after a night in. I'm even inclined to believe a few of them."

Her eyes grew very bright for a moment, and her grin could have frightened an Erumpent. "They do, Adrian. They really do." She quirked an eyebrow delicately, and shot him a half smile across the table. "You know perfectly well you're attractive Pucey, to me and many others. But are you saying, you find me attractive?"

Her eyes grew sad for a moment. "Yes, she is. I only wish she'd been able to..." she stopped and made a wry face. "She does it because she has to I think. I'll never forget what she was like on that day-" she broke off and shook her head. "Hardly good lunch conversation, even if it is about someone as beautiful and lovely as Alicia."

She leant back in her chair and returned his look. "Is that a fact? You're not so bad yourself, you know. Handsome, even."

"You forget though," he paused, "I don't like anyone." He said simply.

"You can't blame a man for having high standards, can you? And if they're bragging about it the next day, that only adds to my pride, right?" He grinned. "I do like hearing it either way, and yes, you are quite attractive, Susan, but you know that very well."

Their conversation about Alicia seemed to make both of them a bit too thoughtful for his liking and so he waved it off, agreeing with he in wanting to change the topic. "I'm handsome, am I? Tell me more," he cooed, leaning across again to grab at the spicy noodles. This time he reached around her, letting his body move into her space a bit more obviously.

"Really," she asked archly. "Not even me?"

Susan snorted and gave him a look. "High standards are perfectly acceptable. Sleeping with Olympia Blacken-White is not," she teased, a mocking look in her eyes. "Why thank you kind sir, always nice to be aesthetically appreciated by someone such as yourself."

She leant back and looked him up and down slowly, before shrugging. If he wanted the game, she'd play. "Well you have the whole rugged good look things, and the ten foot stares that promise all sorts of interesting and surprisingly flexible positions to anyone who approaches," she said, pausing to take a bite of her food. "Plus the hands, love a man with big hands." She smirked as he rather openly entered her personal space. "Is there'd something you'd like?"

"Oh, you're tolerable," he answered with a smile. "And for your information, Miss Blacken-White happens to have certain not-entirely-public talents," like her incredible rack, even if the rest of her was less than desirable.

"Ten foot stares," he repeated, smiling brightly. He nodded along with the rest of her description, love the sound of the words in her voice.

"And my hands can do a lot," when she asked if he wanted something, he moved in a bit further, "Nothing that I haven't already got, but it's always nice to have more," he was practically behind her now, having reached around her for the dish. He spoke low, his mouth just behind her ear. "What more could you want in this world, Susan?" His voice was light but his tone still low.

"Oh thank Helga I'm tolerable," Susan replied glibly. "I'd so hate to be intolerable." She rolled her eyes and looked at him with a vast sense of amusement. "Let me guess, the fact that she has boobs that can be used as emergency floatation devices in the event of an plane crash helped you gloss over her complete and utter lack of a cement personality?" She felt a bit catty, Olympia wasn't so bad really, but her tendency to send out mass memos when she couldn't spell a word was slightly terrifying and highly irritating in equal measures.

"Yes," she said primly, delicately dabbing at the corners of her mouth with a napkin. "Ten foot stares."

Instead of answering his rather brazen questions, she stood up, pulled his face down to hers, and kissed him. "That would be a nice start," she said, breaking away and smiling.

When she kissed him and then stopped for a moment, smiling, he stepped back and stood more straightly, wrapping an arm around her, "A nice start, yeah?" He asked before swooping in for another kiss, lightly teasing her bottom lip.

She had fantastic lips, and he took his time enjoying them before stepping back once more. "You should really come over for lunch more often," He chuckled with a smile before grabbing the noodles he'd originally rounded her for and kipping back to his stool. Digging back into his lunch, he looked her up and down, "Yeah, you really should," he gave her a smile (fork mid-air) that would've melted the coldest woman's heart.
