Susan rolled her eyes and laughed as Lavender regaled her with her story. She wondered, not for the first time, whether it was a predisposition to guilt or genuine egoism that made people assume that they were in trouble whenever a law enforcement official spoke to them. For the most part, the Aurors, Hit Wizards, and Law Enforcement Patrol members were all far too busy to bother with every idiot who cursed their neighbours geraniums, turned their cat orange, or blew up their aunt. "What an idiot," she said at last, taking a sip from her drink. "I hope you booked him just for being an idiot?"
She turned around slightly and leant back more comfortably into the cushions. "Something interesting," she mused. "I could tell you about the sicko we found today who was attempting to use cadavers to overcome death I suppose, but that's a bit boring. So how about we fall back on our old standby and gossip," she suggested. "In particular about two of our friends; one of whom has a lovely new girlfriend which is causing some jealousy issues in the other friend?"
