Ernie's interest in the morbid animals that Theo had a soft spot for made him feel more comfortable with discussing them. He was used to people wanting to change the subject if they were brought up and for Ernie to ask about them was refreshing but also made Theo feel more of a connection to the blond too. "The ones we had were a semi-wild herd. They eat carrion mainly but I used to feed them carcasses and offal and offcuts and stuff like that. they don't need a lot of care as long as you give them space and make sure they've got food. They're really good at clearing mould off wood as well, lichen and stuff sometimes." he realised he was being a bit overenthusiastic again and withdrew a little bit. "I liked watching the Hogwarts herd fly back in the evenings." he added a little quietly.
