Meredith glanced up at Griffin’s smirk and raised an eyebrow. “Really? Five galleons and it has to be someone in Slytherin? I’m sitting here, talking to you. I highly doubt being Slytherin has anything to do with it.”
Griffin shrugged. “Then do it.”
She narrowed her eyes at him before turning her head to look around the streets. Hogsmeade weekend. Who wasn’t around at this time? It shouldn’t have been hard to spot someone who either showed up alone or was taking a moment to wander on their own. And within seconds, Meredith’s eyes fell one tall lanky-looking fellow with no company around. Whether he was following or being followed, it was hard to tell, but she wasn’t going to pass this opportunity. Especially for five galleons.
She threw a smirk at Griffin before pushing herself off the wall.
“Hi,” she said, as she approached. “I couldn’t help notice that you had something on the bottom of your lip. Were you having ice cream?” Without warning she took a step closer, craning her neck up till her mouth closed over his briefly.
It must have lasted for some mere two or three seconds, but Meredith backed away rather suddenly. “Oops! I guess not. I must have been seeing things.” And then she grinned up at the utterly baffled-looking boy.
