Jared was Erik's (volchanov) first boyfriend five years ago, and the grieving of his death is what helped Erik realize the manifestation of his telekinesis. What Erik doesn't know is that Jared didn't actually die in that car crash, but was recruited by the NSA into a training program for young individuals with abilities. It was in this training facility in Idaho that Jared would have met Adelaide (lady_adelaide), who after five years of training together considers him something like a big brother. Both Erik and Adelaide are now residents on Destruction Island (destructionmods). Adelaide is living undercover as Daisy, an administrative assistant in the Facility working to find out everything she can about the uprising currently going on against the government forces who control island life. Erik isn't currently playing an active role on either side, but his aunt has newly become the leader of the Faction, which is what the uprising members call themselves.

Set five years after the meltdown of a nuclear power plant and the subsequent power mutations caused by the radiation, Destruction Island is an original character rpg looking for individuals from all walks of life. While the Facility is intact and doing the job it was intended - the medical treatment and education of the newest special section of people - the island is guarded by military patrols whose favorite pastime is making the residents' lives miserable. But not everyone is just taking the abuse, and the Faction, the mutant uprising group, is fighting for the rights of all the residents, and things are about to get very interesting under its new leadership. Of course, neither group is aware of the government agents who are living undercover on Destruction, keeping a very close eye on all sections of the island's inhabitants.
