Hello! Coming to you on behalf of ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) ageofkings/![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) royalmods, an AU game that opened just this weekend!
The premise of this AU is that, about 500 years ago, one of the English monarchs was actually a wizard. He let his other wizard buddies pretty much take over the place, nixed the Statute of Secrecy before it was ever a thing, and pretty much changed the world. Now, in the year 2000, wizards live openly and run pretty much every country on the planet, and muggles are stuck as surfs and really not happy about that. In fact, they're so unhappy that they've started blowing shit up.
Oh yeah, and everyone is up in arms because the current king is bat-shit-insane and hasn't settled which one of his cousins is his heir. Not that the nobles will really listen to him if he does decide, because he's crazy. They're all just lining up behind which one they want, James Potter or Cygnus Black.
Here's some of the characters we'd really love to see:
Fabian and Gideon Prewett: Did I mention that since there was no first wizarding war, none of those casualties died? Well, these two are among those not-dead characters that are open for play, and Ron would really like to see his uncles. (Bill would, too, for that matter.) Plus, the current Order of the Phoenix needs a good dose of crazy to keep it on its toes.
Bellatrix Lestrange: Tom Riddle needs his right-hand-lady so he can crazy it up in here. See, he knows he's secretly a Gaunt heir, and actually has a good claim to the throne himself, but he's got to be sneaky about getting it. He needs someone on the inside to help him.
Brotherhood Members: This game's gray villain is the Brotherhood, a group of wizards and muggles that work together for the sake of muggle equality. Oh, and their version of work is "terrorize the shit out of people until we get what we want." Yeah, they're kind of mad.
Charlie Weasley: Bill wants his younger brother and best friend in the game, especially since he's thinking about joining the aforementioned gray villain group.
Potters: James and Lily are still alive, and their son is already in play. James has a huge role to play as one of the prospective heirs to the throne, a position he never thought he'd be in. Lily, poor thing, has a target on her back now that she's a muggleborn married to what could possibly be the next king. There's a lot of people who...*ahem* don't like this fact.
Blacks: The other side of the Potter coin, they're facing the chance to be elevated as well. If Cygnus gets the throne, you can bet they'll take advantage of it.
And...well, anyone else you can think of, really. We're very welcoming of all characters. :)
