Hey there RPers! I'm Sam, one of the moderators over at toffs on livejournal. We're a next-gen game set in the 2022/2023 school year (meaning that James is in his seventh year and Albus is in his sixth). We began on March 1st, so the students are just entering October with some big news - an article in the Daily Prophet has just informed the Wizarding world that the current Minister of Magic has been found dead in his office.

There's a lot of talk going on as to whether this is the doing of a blood purist of some sort or a disgruntled Ministry employee. The game canon Muggle-rights activist group, Wizards Against Muggle Mistreatment (WAMM) has been working in conjunction with Shacklebolt and Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Zara Quince, to lower the Statute of Secrecy and finally integrate the Wizard and Muggle worlds. Unfortunately, the project is at a halting point while witches and wizards mourn the loss of Shacklebolt and the Wizengamot nominates replacement candidates. (For a list of plot events thus far, see here.)

While there is an overarching plot that has a more serious tone, there are lighter moments in the game as well. There is a sixth and seventh year social coming up in the next few weeks which will attempt to bring sixth and seventh years closer together while allowing students to dress up as Muggles they've studied in their now mandatory Muggle Studies course. Needless to say, there is a balance between taking ourselves seriously and RPing to have a good time and a few laughs along the way.

At the moment, I play Nicholas Flowers, Amity Smith and Jack Kirke. We have a very solid group of players and characters who are a lot of fun to interact with in and out of the game. Everyone is extremely friendly and always open for plot, no matter how small.

We still have a great selection of characters open (some with canon backgrounds and some originals) and we are looking to fill up some major spots - mainly a Rose Weasley (Ravenclaw) and Roxanne Weasley (Gryffindor). We would also love to fill out the seventh year prefects with Victor Elms (Hufflepuff) and Kate Dorkins (Gryffindor). We also have a Quidditch captain position open in Hufflepuff - Winifred Wood. Additionally, we would love to have some new additions to sixth year. The ones currently casted are loads of fun and need some more friends in their houses!

Our character list can be found here and the rest of the information can be found here at the mod journal. If you have any questions, you can feel free to comment here or drop an email to the mod email - toffsmod[at]gmail.com and I'll have a response for you right away! Hope to see you there!

Hi! I'm here on behalf of [info]conquest, desperately seeking more Hufflepuffs. Though the game hasn't opened, our favourite house is a little lacking -- and Patrick, being a very vocal black and yellow supporter, would like to change that!

[info]conquest is a future-warts game that's been in the works since September of '07. Due to schooling conflicts, the mods decided to postpone its opening, and the result has been an excellent amount of time to get things into order! The main concept of the game comes from JKR's astounding assertion that everything was peaches and cream in the Wizarding World after the defeat of Lord Voldemort. But she didn't say anything about the muggle world.

The world in 2023 is becoming something of a dystopia. London has become run-down and heavily surveilled, while racial minorities are becoming targets of violence and are being both segregated and deported. China has surpassed America economically, and the former has gone into something of a decline. Terrorism remains a problem, religious fundamentalism rapidly growing with both Christian and Muslim sects. And the tables have turned: now, the British PM is reaching out to Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt, asking for help. It's quite possible that without magical intervention and a breaking of the Statute of Secrecy, peace and order will completely break down.

Which sounds quite dark! But Patrick is still just a seventeen-year-old boy, looking for a laugh and a good game of Quidditch. The Wizarding world has become more lax about traditional culture, and technology bans have been lifted from Hogwarts -- but that could change. The cast is shaping up to be very funny, dysfunctional, and all those good ingredients that make a game fun and exciting. Having their own self-contained cities, a lot of the students probably feel very removed from the world's problems.

I'd love a Frank Longbottom and Ernie Macmillan to round out the seventh year dorms! There's also Kouki Nakamura, the son of a Japanese man and Su Li, whose older sister is a Slytherin and would probably be delighted to have him around. Patrick doesn't want his younger brother, Ian, around but I DO! There's also muggleborn sixth year, Alfie, who would be much more aware of the problems his generation is facing than some of his peers. Ephraim Smith, a fifth year, is the son of Zacharias Smith and Megan Jones, and would be a possible candidate for a Quidditch position!

Come join [info]conquest! We'd really, really love to have you!

Hey guys. I play a Demelza Robins at [info]causatum_rpg. She's a little bit on the kooky side, but I've had her in my head for well over a year and she's one of my most developed characters. You can read more about her here and here.

But she really needs friends. She and Ginny really need friends (we also have a fantastic Ginny who is an absolute pleasure to play with. I should know. I've been playing with her and her Muggle for over a year too). Andrew Kirke, Jack Sloper, Victoria Frobisher? Parvati, Lavender, Seamus, Dean, Ron? You guys exist out there? I'd love to work out backstory or an SL if you're interested. Frenemies, ex-es, etc. all welcome. I think she also once had a crush on Michael Corner too, so I'd like to see him as well!

Comment here or ping me on niyki on AIM.
