LOOKING FOR A PLAYER TO FILL AN SL:
About me and the character I play: Hello, everyone! My name's Chels, and I play Regulus Black and Bill Williamson (the Auror Williamson) over at ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) blurred_lines. We're a Postwarts MWPP game set in 1979, and we're a mix between AU and canon; everything is canon at this point, but instead of James and Lily dying, Frank and Alice Longbottom are going to be targeted, and there will be no Boy Who Lived -- so make sure to read all of the game info in the mod journal (![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) blurred_mods) so you have a full grasp of what the plot is. :) We still have PLENTY of time before that, though, and it has been amazing fun thus far (it started on February 2). It's not completely dark -- it mixes in an array of amusing character-driven plots to keep the storyline from getting too depressing and heavy, so there is something for everyone.
Character wanted to fill an SL & why: We are in need of a LILY POTTER, as we just lost ours today. Our James is so lonely without his wife around to keep him in line and bring some RATIONALITY onto the table, etc etc.
Additionally, we can always use some older Death Eaters (though that doesn't mean we discourage younger DEs) and Media people. We already have several of both, but the older Death Eaters will help balance out the swarms of young and PASSIONATELY STUPID SOMETIMES baby Death Eaters. The little whippersnappers need people to boss them around. I would personally really like a Rosier Sr., as he is Regulus's "Death Eater mentor." As for the Media, having more would help with article writing for all of the plotty goodness that goes on, if writing articles about in-game stuff is your cup of tea. We could also REALLY use some more Ministry people, too, actually! Aurors (like Kingsley Shacklebolt!) and Hitwizards and Unspeakables galore -- as well as other Ministry workers. More Order or Death Eater Supporters would also be cool, so long as you can find a way to incorporate them into the war setting. That definitely helps with keeping involved and having fun, and fun, we have!

NOTE: The application pool closes on 19 APRIL (nine days from now) and doesn't open again until 19 MAY because we've recently had an influx of characters and want to give everyone a chance to get to know everyone else. So if you're interested, just remember to keep that time frame in mind. :)

Hi! I play Emmeline Vance and Nymphadora Tonks over at rebel_rebel via rebelrebel_mods, an AU game that takes place in 1988, when characters like Charlie and Bill and Tonks are at Hogwarts. The AU twist is that Voldemort was run out of England in the late 70's, before many Order members were killed and before the Prophecy was ever made, before Harry and company were born and before the height of the war ever happened. The game opens on April 18th, so it's nice and clean, with no backstory to learn for anyone who's interested in a new game with a twist! So far we have over a dozen players and close to twenty characters, along with applications pending, so we're not one of those games where two or three people have eight or nine characters, making it look big, but so many good characters don't get nearly the attention they deserve. We're a different kind of game, definitely.
A lot of popular characters are still open (for a list, go here), but mostly we really, really need a Lily Potter (we already have a James!), Alice Longbottom, Frank Longbottom, Minerva McGonagall and Marlene McKinnon from the Order.
As far as Death Eaters go, we really need Lucius Malfoy, Rodolphus Lestrange, Peter Pettigrew, Alecto Carrow, and Fenrir Greyback! They're currently in hiding or scattered throughout Europe, but soon Voldemort will be uniting them once more, and it's bound to be entertaining.
Regarding adults, we also need Molly Weasley, Narcissa Malfoy, and Kingsley Shacklebolt for sure!
But mostly we need students! Because it takes place in 1988, a lot of the characters who are at Hogwarts during Harry's year are there, but much younger. Many of the characters listed as students are names that have only been mentioned once or twice, so there's a lot of room for character development with them. Characters such as Charlie Weasley, Hestia Jones, Stanley Shunpike, and Kirley Duke McCormack, along the other Weird Sisters, are all still available and wanted desperately!
We're a growing group of players who are friendly, welcoming, and bound to be a fun, active, interesting game!
