Edison hadn't been able to take his eyes off his date all night. He'd picked Megan up at just past seven and had found himself a bit winded at the sight that had greeted him as she'd opened the door to her flat. Not that Edison hadn't thought Megan wasn't pretty before, because the girl he'd met nearly two weeks ago now had been more than attractive in Edison's eyes, but this... the girl he remembered, the one who'd been dressed practically for an early morning forage for flowers was now wearing tight jeans and a shirt with a leather jacket and dark boots that reached her knees. His throat had gone momentarily dry but after offering a playful grin he had managed a brief 'wow' before making sure that she had everything she needed and once she was ready offering his hand to lead her outside, down Diagon Alley, through the Leaky and to his car that was parked not too far down the road.
The journey there had been short, the venue being just a couple of miles down the road and the parking surprisingly close. Edison had gushed about his car as if it were a pet or faithful companion and had told Megan about some of the places he'd been in her, including the road trip he'd taken around Europe a couple of years earlier. He hadn't told Megan about his issues with magic, not yet at least. He liked to suss people out before he did, make sure he could guess what their response would be- but it was a balancing act, especially in situations like this when after a couple of beers and hours of being within very close proximity to somebody made it so that Edison wanted to do nothing more than to take her hand and drag her out of the stands and into the corridor outside and press her to the wall and kiss that wry smile from her lips.
It helped that their evening had been better than Edison could have imagined. The easy banter they'd shared previously was ongoing and they'd managed to wring a lot out of talk of his car, Diagon Alley and their jobs (he had told her that he worked as the head of communications for a wizarding charity but had quickly found a distraction that meant avoiding having to elaborate on the matter). Megan had looked like she was enjoying herself too and Edison watched her as the lights from the stage highlighted her features and he laughed as she looked to him, seemingly confused as to why he was staring.
"You okay?" He asked, dipping his head close so that she could hear him over the music. "We can leave whenever you like, you know." They both had drinks and had eaten already but he was aware that it was getting late and that she'd been on her feet in those absolutely amazing boots for a good few hours now. The music was good but the band had been something his sister had chosen before having to bail and so Edison was happy to take Megan's lead on whether she was ready to leave or not.
