Who: Travis (NPC), Nora, and Gideon
What: Travis' last stand, or something
Where: Nora's apartment
When: Friday, late night
Rating: R
Nora had been living back and forth between her place and Gideon's. She knew they both needed to figure out their living situation, but they were both lazy human beings, and until it became too much of an inconvenience to actually warrant looking at a singular flat, this worked just fine. After all, they lived in the same building. It didn't get much easier than that.
After telling Gid she just needed to grab a few things and she'd be right back, Nora made her way back to her apartment, not even noticing at first that her door was unlocked. She probably forgot anyway, it wouldn't be the first time.
Turning on a light, she looked around to nothing too out of the ordinary, and tossed her keys, her jacket, and her wand onto the kitchen counter. Moving towards the bedroom, Nora rummaged through her drawers, trying to find one specific nightgown she wanted to wear and of course, her toothbrush. Once she had the thin piece of material in hand, Nora turned around, only to be faced with a figure emerging from her bathroom. Instantly, terror sank in, her entire body going cold as she recognized this was no ordinary intruder.
"Travis..." she whispered, dropping the nightgown onto the floor, her eyes instantly darting towards the bedroom down. They were both equidistant, and Nora knew she had left her wand on the counter... She had no change without it.
"Nor..." he breathed softly, staring at her, something... unnerving in his eyes, in the way he looked at her. Maybe if she kept him talking for a moment, distracted. Her eyes nervously scanned his hands for a syringe this time around but found nothing, not in that second.
"What are you doing here? You know... you shouldn't be here. You need to leave," she said with more confidence than she felt, taking a breath and standing up straight, trying to have confidence, even if she felt none. Immediately she tried to figure out how he got in. There were wards! But then it dawned on her... after the magic had gone, Nora had forgotten to reinstate the security spells. Her apartment had been unprotected this entire time, and she had no one to blame for that but herself.
"Nora..." he repeated, his voice shaking as he stared her down, "I heard you got married." The words seemed to hurt him, and she didn't know how to respond. Maybe the truth was best. She had no where else to go from here.
"Yeah, I did, Travis. Which is why you need to leave. This... You know it's over. It's been over for a long, long time. People are looking for you after last time. They're going to find you, and it's not going to be good. So I'm giving you one chance to leave. Leave and never come back, okay? It's your only way out of this." She was impressed with her own words, how her voice only shook a little bit. But then he chuckled, a dark, scary laugh that made her break out in goosebumps, and the hair on the back of her neck stand up. It was an evil sound, one that she knew would haunt her from this moment on, and she knew that she was fucked.
"And what makes you think I'm going to leave, just because you tell me to?" he asked. Without thinking, Nora bolted towards the kitchen, making it through the doorway by the skin of her teeth, Travis hot on her trail. She was almost to the countertop, her fingers brushing out for her wand as she felt him grab the back of her hair and slammed her head forward, bashing it off the stone of her counter. Instantly, her vision blurred, she felt warmth start to slowly coat her face as she fell to the ground, unable to focus, a horrible, skull splitting pain radiating through her head. She groaned, rolling over, trying to force her body to slowly crawl for the door.
He laughed again, a sound of nightmares, as she did so. "Where you going, Nor? You always were determined. It's part of why I love you so much," he told her as he reached down, grabbing her by the hair again, wrenching her neck back so she was forced to look up at him.
"I've been doing a lot of thinking in my time away. Decided that if I can't have you. No one can, Nor. Don't want to live without you, but I just can't stand to see you with someone else. So there's only one solution," he explained. His tone was almost apologetic as he looked down at her. Suddenly it clicked. He was... was he really going to kill her? Merlin, the crazed look in his eyes gave him away, and Nora tried to scream. He put his hand over her mouth, anticipating the reaction, and she tried to struggle. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a sharp pocket knife, flicking it open and running the blade along her cheek, biting into skin enough to cut flesh, a small trickle of blood falling down her face. "We'll go together, Nor. I promise it won't hurt," he said tenderly, reaching down, grabbing her arm and pulling up her sleeve. She struggled against him then, with all her might, no matter how dizzy and sick it made her, but it was no use. He put the blade against her wrist, cutting into flesh, from nearly the palm of her hand and up...
Suddenly, she managed to get herself enough free that she leaned forward, biting savagely into his neck and breaking flesh, blood pooling into her mouth. Travis roared and pushed her away, and Nora clumsily scrambled to her feet, falling against the wall, blood smearing everywhere as she made her way for... anywhere. He was in front of the door.. maybe the bathroom. Maybe there was some sort of weapon she could find. Anything.
Grabbing the bathroom door handle, she struggled to close it, right as a weight like a boulder slammed into the door. "I WAS TRYING TO BE NICE ABOUT THIS NORA. WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO GO AND MAKE EVERYTHING SO FUCKING COMPLICATED?! I'M SICK OF IT! YOU FUCKING BITCH!" She held the door closed as long as she could, but soon she flew back against the tile of the floor, scrambling away weakly, finally, the tears flowing from her eyes.
"Stop it, just stop it! You're insane! Think about what you're doing," she pleaded hysterically. Slamming the door behind them though, Travis turned on the bathtub, the water filling it as he grabbed her roughly, throwing her into the porcelain as water cascaded around her. "No!" she screamed again, trying to climb out, but he punched her in the face, and she fell back, the water deep enough now.
"Goodbye, love. I'll see you soon, I promise. Then we can be together forever..." he leaned down, pressing a kiss to her as she struggled to turn her face before shoving her into down into the cold water, cutting off her air supply. She struggled, but he was stronger. He'd always been stronger. The water tinged pink quickly with the blood from her head, and her sliced wrist, and soon, she couldn't hold her breath anymore.
The darkness started to settle in... she couldn't struggle anymore. How could this really be the end?
