Edison had dressed and packed quickly after speaking to Megan. He'd had the thought to take her away before his attack, but now, after having spent nearly two weeks away from her, the idea of getting some distance between the two of them and Diagon Alley was more appealing than ever. Once, not too long ago, and Edison spent a big chunk of his time immersed within muggle life. He'd spent three quarters of his school and college years surrounded by people like himself and so it felt second nature to seek out a simpler way of things whenever he was needing to gain some perspective.
Not that he needed his head clearing now or that there would be much difference in what he was likely to do with and to his girlfriend whether they were at hers or anywhere else, but the thought of fluffy white sheets, not having to cook and having breakfast on a balcony overlooking the city was just too much to resist. Plus, he'd reasoned with himself, they'd never done anything like this before. He'd missed Megan and her way of making everything that little bit brighter in his life and he really couldn't wait to spend some time alone with her, not just to spend in bed but to catch up with too.
The bed part was important though. Two weeks without and Edison could have taken her right there in the doorway to her flat she looked so good. He didn't though, instead he behaved, tried his best to concentrate on the king sized bed in the suite he'd booked for them. Not that he could keep from kissing her as he apologized again for being a stubborn sod. Luckily the trip to the hotel would be short- he struggled to keep from touching her, taking in the scent of her shampoo as he pressed affectionate kisses to the top of her head as he held her close in the taxi.
"I can't wait to get you alone." He murmured, giving her a nudge as the car came to a halt in front of a tall grand, grey building. "This is it," He smiled excitedly, letting himself out of the other side, the driver grabbing their bags to follow them in. He took her hand momentarily, leading her inside, before letting go. "Go on, have a look around. I won't be a minute. I'll just check in and then we can go up to the room. We'll decide what we're doing for dinner then, yeah?" He asked, leaning in for a quick kiss before making his way to the front desk.
