Where: Six Flags, NY
When: Sunday, August 14th
Rating: R? Just in case
Status:
Mandy knew Orsino loved to surf and to sky dive, so she figured he might like amusement parks. She had never been to one, but had been told it was insanely fun and she had to admit that they were right so far.
Of course, mandy had made sure management and security were fine with all this and had told them they didn’t need additional security for the day. She’d be fine. Now, whether they believed her or not, she had no idea. For all she knew, there might be one of her colleagues hanging around following them and she wouldn’t be angry if she found out there were. Even though it was her job, today was her day off and she was going out with Orsino as.. Something else than a rockstar and his security detail.
She blushed when she realized suddenly that this was going to be her life for a while. Even with all the training she had done both as a Hit Witch and as a Security Agent, she might actually have to take someone along.
Mandy looked at Orsino and grinned as they stood in line for the next ride and she couldn’t help but giggle a little. Just enough to feel ridiculous anyway.
-----
Orisno had never been to an amusement park before this. He had been rock climbing, cliff diving, scuba diving, sky diving, bungee jumping, snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding, and a manner of other crazy sports, but the wonders of a place like Six Flags had escaped him. He had been doing it wrong all these years! He was obsessed with the roller coasters. The huge drops, the loops… it was exhilarating, and he was having an amazing time with Mandy.
He couldn’t help but smile over at her, a spring in his step, his mood light as he waited impatiently for the line to move. That was probably the only thing he was bad at… the waiting, but he had his beautiful girl to keep him company.
Reaching out to her, he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close to his side and kissing the top of her head. “This place is fucking amazing, Mands! I feel like a kid or something. You having a good time?” he questioned, looking down and giving her a bright smile.
“After this ride you want to grab a bite though? I’m starving…”
---
Nodding, Mandy wrapped her arm around his middle and hid her face in his chest. “Definitely. I’m getting hungry.” she admitted. Most of what they had to offer was fast food, but there were definitely a few exceptions and she’d definitely grab a sandwich after this ride.
They were moving on at a steady rhythm and she was glad for it. Not because she didn’t like being with her boyfriend, but because she wasn’t much more patient than he was. She was excited and liked the rides every bit as much as he did. Clearly they were getting along famously on several levels.
“I’m having so much fun. Clearly I didn’t know what fun was anymore.” Her cheeks flushed and she bit her lower lip. She had spent so much time exclusively training and now she was living again. Having fun. Loving. Her heart skipped a beat at her admission and she gave Orsino a very bright smile.
August was always a hard month to go through, every since her mum had died and even if she was corresponding with her dad all the time, she was a bit down lately. But this day was bright and fun and she loved it. She loved him and he was a pretty important part of her life now.
She had made it through most of her issues before she had met him, but he had helped with whatever she couldn’t do on her own. She no longer needed to cover up her scar and she wasn’t afraid of falling asleep with him either. Mandy was healing and Orsino was helping, even if sometimes he wasn’t aware that he was.
And she loved him for it.
----
Orsino laughed at her words, pulling her into a hug, watching a roller coaster cart full of screaming people whiz by overhead. “Don’t worry, we’ll make sure every day is as fun as this one. Well, maybe not every day. We might get a bit exhausted after a while, but lazing around can be just as much fun, especially when you’re with a gal as interesting and pretty as you are,” he said with a wink, chuckling softly before letting her go from the hug but still keeping his arm around her as the line moved forward.
Ever since he had admitted to liking her, and she him, things had been running rather smoothly. Of course, Orsino liked to fancy himself as someone who was easy to get along with, but he also knew sometimes he could be a bit of an airhead and not realize when something was wrong. Hell, he hadn’t realized something was wrong when Mandy had been avoiding him, so he wasn’t perfect…
But spending time with her since then? Well, quite frankly he had never been so happy. It was a glorious feeling, and he was always smiling lately. So much so that the boys had started poking fun at him even, but he didn’t mind. There was no reason to hide how good of a mood he was in when Many was around.
The line moved forward again, and Orsino could see the platform where they boarded the coaster, and couldn’t help the slight jump of excitement at the sight.
“Not much longer! I think this one is going to be better than the last. There’s like… two loops!” he pointed out excitedly, like a kid in a candy store.
When they managed to get up front, he went into the line that would take them to the very front of the coaster. The best place, in his humble opinion.
“What did you want to eat after this? Anything strike your fancy? I wonder if they have pizza…” If he wasn’t thinking about the next thrill, music, or Mandy, the next thought always on his mind was food.
----
Mandy was a fan of looping and his idea to be up front was definitely a great one. That exhilarating moment when they were towing the carts up only to get them to ‘drop’ down was the best feeling in the world. Amazingly, it was sort of how it felt to falling in love with someone as great as Orsino. The fear it might derail, then you realize it’s not and everything’s fine. The ride gives as much as you give it.
“They might. I think I saw a stand earlier. We can check it out when we’re done. I’m be bloody surprised if they didn’t.” Pizza was an american basic. Surely they could have pizza.
---
“Excellent. We’ll go right after… I think my stomach is going to eat itself soon,” he joked, waiting as they moved a bit closer to the front. Maybe two more rounds and it would be their turn… The front line was always the longest, and Orsino took that as a sign that his idea that it was the best spot was a valid one. After all, it meant that they saw that drop first hand!
Taking her hand, a few more rounds passed and they were finally at the front, taking their seats as the cushioned chest pieces dropped down, locking them in place. Orsino was nearly vibrating as he looked over at Mandy. “Here we go! You ready?” he said with a wink as the roller coaster took off.
---
Mandy was slightly excited as she sat down beside Orsino, right in front of the cart. The cushioned chest piece dropped down and she chuckled nervously. “Damn, this is going to be a wild one.” She loved roller coasters, but she was always a bit nervous as she got into them.
He winked at her and her stomach fluttered, making her blush a little. Holding the fastening tightly, she gave an excited scream as the cart got towed all the way up.
---
Without much warning, the roller coaster really took off, speeding forward on the track and towards the first loop. Orsino couldn’t help but yell happily, but totally in a manly way as well, okay? But Merlin, was he having the time of his life. Once the first loop was over they went into a series of twists, followed by a fast straight shot towards another loop.
“Here we go again!” he yelled to her as they were upside down again, then evening out and going towards a sharp curve, a few more spirals and then it was over. It was so fast… but so worth it!
Orsino’s hair was totally crazy by the time they got back to the platform, the chest pieces unlocking and rising up while he got out of his seat, holding his hand out to mandy as well.
“Well, that was a wild one! Might have to do that one again before we go!” he told her happily. “Now, I’m hungry. I insist you let me give you a piggy back ride so we can get there faster. It’s just that I have longer legs… you see,” he teased, leaning down and kissing her cutely on the nose.
----
Her heart was beating so fast the whole time and she felt so damn alive. She had missed moments like these where she could be having fun without being afraid of something lurking in the dark, or to be dropped like she didn’t matter. It made her realize that this was her new perfect. She had changed and her life had changed, so now this was the most amazingly perfect day she’d had in a long time with someone she had feelings for.
She grabbed his hand so she could get off the cart and she grinned at him, bouncing on her feet. “It was so much fun, we need to do this again!” she exclaimed as they made their way out of there to check out food places. He was so cute, all excited and disheveled like that.
“Okay, well, you’ll need to drop down a bit if you want me to get on.” Mandy told him, not at all minding the shorter legs comments. She was 5’6” and he was about 6’4”, he was definitely taller and it would go much faster.
---
“Your wish is my command, my lady,” he said with a slight chuckle, getting down low enough that she could hop up on his back, and once she was in place he held onto her legs, starting to run towards the food. Some people gave them odd looks, but he didn’t really care. He was having a good time acting like a child… That’s what life was all about anyway, right?
Once they were close he slowed down, wandering around and looking at the stands and their various choices.
“So… we have pizza. Ice cream. Burgers. Hot dogs. I think there’s a sandwich place down yonder,” he mentioned, motioning in an eastern direction. “Is pizza alright or do you want something else? I don’t care, I’m just hungry. Takes a lot of fuel to keep this body going,” he teased. Really, with the appetite he had most of the time it was a wonder he wasn’t a million pounds. But between his active lifestyle, working out, his drumming, and most likely his wicked metabolism, he stayed lanky and skinny. Not that he really minded thought.
---
Mandy held onto Orsino and giggled as he jogged towards the food stands. She snuggled against him and kissed his neck as he walked around, looking at the possibility. “Pizza is good for me.” she told him as she let her teeth grazed his skin lightly. Right now, she was slightly distracted by how tasty Orsino was and Mandy smiled.
“I’d eat pretty much anything.” She bit back the ‘I’d eat you’ comment, that would come later.
---
Orsino couldn’t help the slight shiver that ran down his spine at Mandy’s lips and teeth on his skin, and while he was having a lot of fun, that didn’t mean he wasn’t prepared to stop somewhere for another form of fun…
“You know, I could turn that very dirty,” he mentioned, his mind going the same place that hers did. He wasn’t always the most mature, after all. But instead he let her slide down his back, turning around and kissing her, not caring who stared at them before taking her hand after breaking away.
“Food first though. Need to keep up my energy, after all,” he said with a wink, going towards the pizza counter and ordering two slices of pepperoni for himself, and then gesturing to Mandy to figure out what she wanted. He already had his muggle money out. He was a rockstar and regardless of everything else, he had the money to pay and was going to.
---
Mandy chuckled. “It was meant to be dirty, lover.” she whispered to his ear right before she slid down his back and kissing his back deeply before she followed him to the counter. She ordered a slice of all dressed and smiled at Orsino.
“I’m glad you are having fun. I figured it would be right up your alley since you mentioned skydiving and all.” It was something she wanted to try too. Throwing herself off of a plane sounded like a lot of fun.
“And there are fireworks tonight too, by the way. It will definitely be nice. Good thing you don’t have a show tonight, huh?”
---
“Fireworks?” he asked excitedly, though it was partially obscured by the fact he had a mouth full of pizza at the time. Sometimes he could be the least classy person, but that was part of what made him so endearing! At least that's what he told himself….
Swallowing he smiled at her, looking around at the park, the people, the rides. He truly was like a kid in a candy store. “Exactly up my alley, beautiful. You're the absolute best. Next place is my choice though… ever gone bungee jumping?” he asked with asked wag of his eyebrow before leading them towards an empty table to finish off their food.
Once that was done they were back in the park, riding every roller coaster and other extreme looking ride that Orsino laid his excited eyes on, loving every moment. After a while though the sun started to set, and he knew the fireworks would be somewhat soon.
“Wanna go play a game or two before the show? You can win me something fancy,” he teased with a wink, before throwing his arm around her shoulder and giving her cheek an affectionate kiss.
---
Mandy was absolutely happy to see Orsino so giddy and having such a great time. She kissed his arm and realized at that moment that she wanted things to always feel this way. They were happy, laughing, having fun together and building a nice relationship. Nice and healthy.
As he called her beautiful, her face broke into a grin, her heart beating as fast as it did on the rollercoasters and it was okay with her. She was absolutely fine and she knew at that moment that her life was changing. She was changing, slowly letting him in, letting go of her fear.
She had never been bungee jumping and told him so, promising she’d go with him once they were back from the tour. Mandy was finding herself, literally speaking and there were activities that she had never thought she’d ever do before the war turned out to be so much fun.
All those perfect moments passed with him, were not slowly making place to brand new memories. Fun, exciting, exhilarating memories with laughter and giggles.
The rest of the day went by way too quickly, she thought, but there would be the next day. And then the next. New days with new challenges and time spent in great company. It would also bring her closer to home, finding that as much as she loved being on tour, she also really wanted to be able to share this with her friends. She wanted Orsino to meet them and her father and be a part of her life home too.
Standing in front of the ring toss game, she smirked at her boyfriend and got a pot to toss. Mandy was skilled, but also needed to concentrate as she refused to use magic for that. After tossing them all, she finally asked for the count to the poor young man who just gaped at her for a while.
“Looks like you are getting what you wish for, lover.” Mandy told Orsino, nodding towards the wall of massive plushies. “Are you getting a dragon?”
----
Orisno watched impressed as Mandy absolutely dominated the game they were playing, and the awe and wonder was clearly etched on his face when she turned back to him. He couldn’t help but clap, walking up next to her and taking her hand, looking over at the man working the game and motioning towards Mandy. “Isn’t my gal talented?” he said, tightening his grip on her hand, looking around at the stuffed animals and other prizes that littered the booth.
Shifting back and forth on his feet, Orsino scrunched his face, trying to make the decision on what the prize he wanted would be. “The dragon’s nice…. But… then there’s the dolphin. And we all know dolphins are awesome. But damn… that rainbow unicorn, Mands, it’s speaking to me…” Pointing out the glittery, rainbow monstrosity, Orsino moved forward, looking back and forth between that and the dolphin. “Now the question is, will you still respect me if I choose the unicorn over the dragon? Will I be less manly?” he laughed, pulling her too him and kissing her softly, unable to help himself.
-----
“Lover, I was into a stylist. You can feel safe to grab the unicorn.” she told him, grinning. “As long as it’s not taking my place on the faux fur.” Mandy looked at Orsino semi-threateningly and narrowed her eyes.
“That training’s got to be useful, huh?”
----
Laughing at her comment, Orsino shook his head, putting his free hand that wasn’t occupied holding hers over his heart. “I can very much assure you that no stuffed animal will ever take your place in my bed, beautiful,” he said before asking for the stuffed toy and tucking it under his arm.
“You spoil me so, Mandy,” he teased, kissing the top of her head before moving them away from the game, towards the area the fireworks would be at. “We should probably go find somewhere to sit, yeah? Maybe we should grab a blanket too or something…” he mused, enjoying the cool breeze and the perfect company as they walked through the busy park.
---
Orsino called her ‘beautiful’ again and Mandy looked up at him adoringly and grinned. She usually wasn’t all that obvious in public, especially since Orsino was a public figure, but she couldn’t help herself. They were surrounded by Muggles and to her it was like they were alone in the world. No one to report this to anyone.
“We should find a blanket, or I don’t actually mind sitting on the ground either.” Mandy said with a shrug. “I’m going to sit between your legs and I’ll be fine.” He was so tall and his legs were pretty much never ending so sitting between his legs made her feel.. Protected. All wrapped up into him.
---
On their way to the area close to the fireworks, Orsino stepped into a gift shop and purchased a blanket for the two of them before they continued on. It wouldn’t be too long now, and quite a few people had already taken up their places, but there was still plenty of room and Orsino walked them over to a flat spot before throwing the blanket down and sitting down, reaching a hand up with a charming smile on his face. “My lady,” he said, waiting until she was settled before he put his arms around her, burying his face into her neck momentarily, kissing her softly.
“Thank you for such an amazing day, babe,” he said seriously, sighing in a content fashion. “Think I needed to get out… do something fun. This was perfect, sort of like you,” he muttered before sitting back on his elbows, letting her lay against him.
----
Mandy had always said she was far from being the most feminine and delicate woman, but every time she was spending time with Orsino, he made her feel like the prettiest girl. She owned a few outfits that made her feel feminine and sensual, but today after a whole day of rollercoaster, being in shorts and a t-shirt, her hair in need of a good brush, she would normally feel icky about it, except that her boyfriend was absolutely perfect and made her feel amazing.
“I figured you needed a break, love. We all do at some point and touring is pretty intense.” She had never realised how intense it could be and now that she worked on it, it was long hours and a lot of details to take care of.
She leaned against him as she sat there between his legs and she sighed. “I’m starting to think that..” Mandy blinked and smiled. “You are perfect for me at this point in my life.”
Mandy remembered how she had told Orsino that Maxwell had been perfect back then. The whole two years and a half had been the perfect relationship, but it was back then. Now her life was different, she was different.
“A while ago, I thought that life was like a rollercoaster, you know? It starts off and sometimes it’s sweet and nice, then you get.. Loops and drops and it goes fast or not. But it’s not quite it, you know?”
She looked up as the stars started to map the dark sky. “The whole park is that. Some get onto harder rides at first, then finish off with the smaller, quiet ones. And some just mix it up. Sometimes you get in the park with your parents and you meet up with friends later on. Sometimes you get on a ride alone and meet someone really amazing on the ride, while it happens and you stick together for one or two more rides.”
“And sometimes, you get onto a ride with someone and you fight and separate, then you get onto the next one on your own after you’ve tried to calm down by eating too much and you throw up all over the place.”
She shrugged. “And then there are those rides after that. You get too bloody scare and you back out. Until you meet someone and he convinces you that it’ll be fine. The ride’s big, but he promises to hold your hand. And it’s only once it’s really going, right before the first big drop that he extends his hand and smiles at you. Because it’s going to be okay, he’s sitting right there too.”
“So to thank him, I won him the biggest, glittery unicorn ever made. Because I love him and I wouldn’t know that if he hadn’t given me the chance to freak out about the ride in the first place.”
------
Orsino held her as she spoke, pressing soft kisses against her neck, listening to Mandy get it all out. He enjoyed the theme park imagery, that was something he could certainly grab onto. It didn’t take him long to realize what she was saying, or at least, figure out that she was using their relationship as a basis for her story, and all the things she had been through in the past. It really did make him smile. She was so bloody adorable, and strong, and smart. Everything he probably didn’t deserve. Orsino had never really thought about anything long term before. Sure, he had always wanted something real, something more than just a one night stand or a groupie who wanted their name in the papers for their fifteen minutes of fame, but he had never really pushed for it. After all, Orsino wasn’t really the type. He was the type to let things happen as they happened, which was exactly how he figured the world was supposed to work.
Never in a million years did he expect someone so perfect to drop into his life. Maybe that’s why for the first time, when she had tried to pull away, he wouldn’t let her. For once, Orsino didn’t want to lose this feeling, this person. It had taken him a while to find someone who appealed to everything he was, and he wasn’t about to let that go.
The first firework whizzed through the air when she mentioned the unicorn. He was currently using the thing as a back rest, but what really threw him off for a moment was the true admission. The fact she had just said that she loved him.
Another firework went off, and he smiled kissing the soft skin below her ear softly before moving his lips to her ear, his breath tickling across. “I love you too, Mandy. I’m glad you’re on this ride with me. Any other way and it would just be boring,” he finished, turning her head and capturing her lips, kissing her a little bit more passionately this time as more fireworks began to go off. Perhaps it was a bit cliche, but Orsino didn’t mind. He also wasn’t a man of many words, and truly hoped that his response was what she had been hoping for.
---
His kisses felt amazing on her skin, giving her goosebumps. Mandy was absolutely sure it had nothing to do with the breeze and everything to do with Orsino and the private moment they were sharing. Once again, she was glad that they could be together, like this, without everyone knowing who her boyfriend was or dealing with his fame. They could just be together and be.. them.
He didn’t need to have long speeches to get his point across. Mandy only spoke this much because she wanted to be honest with him and just plainly telling him she loved him might have sounded too.. direct? Or it might not have made sense? She was someone who liked to show people how she arrived to the conclusions she believed in and this was no different than working on a new potions or spell.
Explaining how she had arrived to the conclusion that she loved him and that those goosebumps, that excitement she had when they were together, that this feeling she got when he called her beautiful, this was all true. She had embraced the fall and now she was in love.
Good thing he loved her too.
“You are perfect for me,” she whispered again as they kissed passionately and she shifted between his legs to face him. As tall as Orsino was, Mandy only had to sit on her heels as she kneeled in front of her boyfriend, cupping his as she kissed him almost desperately. She was falling, falling and falling again, but pretty much like bungee, he’d catch her.
Mandy was healing and even though she knew she still had hard days ahead of her and possibly lots of insecurities coming, she was fine right now. She trusted and believed him.
