The rain was coming down hard today; thanks perhaps in part to his instructor's sense of humor, Frank had spent most of the morning out in it. He had to admit that adjusting his dueling and tracking skills to bad weather did present an interesting challenge, though his imperturbable charm definitely needed some work. He had been moving around, so he was hardly cold, though it took a couple of rounds of charms to dry off, particularly his shoes.
Still, he got a grunt and a pat on the shoulder for his hard work before being allowed to take a lunch break, which was praise enough to put him in a good mood. Good enough to decide that he would rather have company for lunch, though he habitually ate alone, and upon encountering his fellow trainee Alice Trimble, asked her to join him at the cafe just down the street.
For this, he had an umbrella - unwieldy and more dangerous to him than anything else in a duel, but handy for walking down the street - and offered to share it. He held it in one hand, running his other through his slightly damp hair, and smiled at the rain. It was refreshing, in truth. Glancing over at Alice, he asked, "How are you today, then?"
