Title: School Dance Fandom: Kingdom Hearts Character/Pairing: Sora/Riku Rating: G Warnings: None Music:The Magnetic Fields - "With Whom To Dance?" Summary: Sora goes to the school dance A/N: Again, crits are awesome sauce. This is for all the kids who went to the school dances and sat alone. To those who are alone for Valentines Day and watching wistfully afar.
The girls are whispering feverishly, huddled in a group.Their pointed stares directed towards a young
brunette. He's sitting in the darker side of the gymnasium, Head in hands, elbows on knees. His bright blue eyes are
somehow dull at the same time. He watches the grinding, heaving mass of High schoolers, a wistful smile on his face.
The boy, Sora, was a well liked kid with lots of friends and a permanent smile for everyone. But while he had many
friends, none were close. Though he was very popular, people often didn't understand him. At age 16 he was as bouncy
and excitable as a three year old and loud to boot. He showed exuberance over the smallest of things and enjoyed a
simple life. Girls disliked his immaturity, and boys couldn't find much to relate with him. While the normal, healthy
teenage boy enjoyed video games, Sora could be found outside in a handmade fort, fighting straw dummies with a
wooden sword. The boy lived on the outskirts of town, yet he owned a flock of chickens and ducks. These animals ran
free range(in a fenced yard mind you) while his thirteen rabbits lived in a rather large enclosure. Boys and girls would
chat about the wild parties and who got laid that weekend, while Sora loudly exclaimed about his rabbits winning local
shows. He was very different from his peers, was alien to them and so they never cared to get to know Sora better. Poor Sora was dragged to this school dance by his only close friend, Kairi. She insisted he go and have fun.
But after getting through the door, she was pulled away by her other friends and soon lost in the crowd. Now Sora was
bored and lonely. He sighed, the floor boards eating up all of his attention. He mildly wondered what was going on
when a gaggle of girls behind him quieted abruptly, as if holding their breath. Black shoes interrupted his view of the
wood and he looked up to meet intense teal blue eyes. The pale boy had a solemn look on his face as he looked Sora
over. He reached out a hand, his low voice somehow cutting through the loud music. "Get up.Come get some punch with me and dance." Hip tilted, black slacks almost touching the ground, the silver haired boy waited. Sora's face gave way to a full blown
grin and he clasped the offered hand. His blue eyes wide and dancing. "My name's Sora. Yours?" Those aqua -marine eyes still focused on his. "Riku." Dress shoes hardly making a sound, Riku led Sora away toward the drinks. The group of girls squealed incoherently or
spluttered in indignant outrage. That was the night Sora met Riku.
