[Meine Liebe] Pearl
Title: Pearl
Author: Trio Maxwell-Chang
Fandom: Meine Liebe
Pairing or POV: Naoji (about Lui)
Written For: raighne
Special Note: I should've known that no matter what theme was given, Naoji would turn it into a way to wax eloquent about Lui.
Dawn is an exquisite time to go riding. Few people are up so early, though all of their usual companions wake around the same time, and in the soft grey of pre-dawn, Naoji can't help but notice the way Lui's skin becomes almost pearl, delicate and unearthly in a way he shall never be. Pearl is a soft stone, one that invites the touch a diamond does not. And Lui's skin invites that same touch, shimmering with each movement. Most of the skin is hidden by their uniforms, but his face is not, and it is framed by the dark beauty of his hair. As pre-dawn gives way to the real thing, Lui's skin remains unearthly, but his hair comes alive with hidden highlights. The fire of dawn in the sky is echoed in the deep mahogany that lights the thick mass, turning him from something too beautiful into something beyond imagining. In Naoji's eyes, he grows, his very being towering over all others, blocking them from Naoji's sight until the Japanese boy can see no other.
Naoji wonders, sometimes, if Lui does it purposefully. The man seduces him with a touch, bending Naoji's will to his with so very little work that it is all Naoji can do to preserve his sense of self when confronted with Lui. He'd never expected to find such a companion in this place, had resigned himself to being alone in this unfamiliar world. But Lui sought him out, chose him above others, and that thought shakes Naoji. He reminds himself of it each time they're alone - particularly on these quiet rides each morning when it is all he can do to hold himself back. He watches the muscles move beneath Lui's jacket, watches the way the hair streams out behind Lui as the overwhelming man gives into the devil within and nudges his horse into an all-out gallop. He thinks, sometimes, that he would follow Lui to the ends of the earth, just to watch the light dance against that delicate, pearl-perfect skin.
He would follow to the ends of the earth - to Hell itself, and beyond...
