Really, Corin was almost reluctant to read the letter - Riku seemed to quiet and relaxed right now. (Probably, actually, like he'd been when he first found him and the Prince in the stables) But this was why he was here, and was Riku's mood really likely to improve if they waited until another day. They'd just have to go through this all again.
Quietly, Corin broke the seal on the letter and held it up the for the Prince to read with him. See? Their parents were just overjoyed the their missing children were alive and found.
At his nod, he began reading the letter aloud for Riku.
Our most dear children, Riku and Namine
We never thought this day would come. We received word from your brother Corin that you two have been located, alive and well. Your mother can hardly form words to express her joy. Riku, Corin tells us the drawings you included of you and your sister are a good likeness, and your mother carries them everywhere with her.
Goodness, you both grew up so much, and so beautiful. Namine, you were practically a babe when we last held you in our arms. And now, a young lady.
So much we have missed in your lives. We had thought you two lost to us forever. There is so much to tell you, so many questions we have, and you two must have. I know the present can never make up for the time we have lost, and what you two must have endured and weathered since being take from us, but we shall try.
"Stop," Riku said, giving the Prince a tight squeeze and just... breathed for a few moments before asking, "This is... written by my Papan?"
"Yes," Corin said as gently as he could. "In his own hand too."
