Well it was just... you didn't work, you didn't eat. Even if you were unhappy, you didn't have a choice. And if you DID try to escape, it was generally through alcohol or cheap and pleasurable company, which were only temporary anyway.
So.... know. He didn't really understand. But he sat down beside the Prince anyway, his eyebrows knitting together while he tried to make sense of it. They had come so FAR since those early days, he didn't want to see the Prince falling back into that boy he had once been. Riku had been DIFFERENT, and that had been enough to make the Prince life his head from his unhappiness. But now he was used to Riku. What if he couldn't make his life special enough anymore to drag him out of his darkness.
