Roxas chuckled low, appreciative and mischievous. "What is this?" he asked, distracted easily since he did have a bit of drink in him and was in such high spirits. He took the plate and a fork and tried it. Then he put a bunch more truffles on the plate. "It seems so crowded in here," he said pointedly. "I think it would be good to take a turn in the garden." Granted, they were already technically outside in the courtyard, but Roxas was certain that Hayner had come to know EACH hidden spot in the gardens nearby. He wanted to share this cake with Hayner among other things that he did not want to wait the night out for.
The Prince thought these were very mature thoughts coming from a young boy of thirteen? Fourteen? But then again his sister was not too terribly much older. This war had aged even the children too fast, and although he did want Abe to have the best education and training available, he vowed to not steal the boys youth too soon. "I certainly do not want to suffer my wounds again." And Abe knew the extent of it too. Sora was still not allowed to take up the sword yet. He had secretly been taking up the violin a few minutes at a time in hopes he could play for Riku tonight for just a little bit.
"Of course she will dance with you!" Abe was incredible. "As an important member of my court, it will fall on you to look after her many times." Sure, Kairi had her own guards that would follow her anyway, and all her friends and ladies, but sometimes it was more comfortable to have someone there to protect you that you knew personally. And he would be good to keep an eye on potential suitors and report to Sora and Squall on their behavior. See, Sora was thinking ahead!
He clapped Abe on the back. "But first, come with me to meet my Father." He spotted him standing across the courtyard. "Ready?" Because he didn't want Abe to freak out or anything.
