She felt terrible that she was scared and not ready, but she was behind Riku in that world. She took a breath and stayed close to him. "Thank you Riku." She knew she couldn't stay with him too long, he was being looked at by people as well.
The Prince was busy dancing with his sister, then his Mother, then his Aunt. He was quite occupied for a while. But Roxas was not, and he kept an eye on Riku until it seemed like his sister finally departed to spend a bit of time with her eldest brother. Before any of the ladies could twitter over Roxas cut them off. "Will you let me have a dance, Riku? While His Majesty is still in high demand." Riku was really pretty! You can't blame a guy for looking.
Conrad looked down at her hand and back at her. He...really appreciated that. "To be honest, I am not sure the last time I did not wear a uniform." This was his most formal uniform that existed for the one of the highest ranked officers in the Royal Army. And she didn't particularly mind any of that.
When did he have a friend last either? "I am happy to take your time," he admitted, a small smile tugging at his lips.
"I am sorry to hear that," that her Father was wounded. Was there anything he could do? Her family lived in Mire, right? She was nobility, surely she had either other male family members on the estate and SURELY she had servants? But Conrad had seen many nobles with nearly nothing in these hard times. "Do you have brothers at home?" Uncles? What was her family's wealth? What if they had harvest to bring in?
"We will stay until the end of the week, then back to the field until Caloria is clear from harm." So...he had to go back out and fight.
