Sometimes Sora just wanted to tackle Riku and smother him or tickle him (was he ticklish? Sora really didn't know yet!) or mess up his hair or just generally wrestle him to the ground for throwing him off like he did. He really needed to learn to control himself and not turn pink just because Riku was being SO lovely when he was TRYING to leave!!
He walked off just clenching his fists and vowing to get Riku back, but stopped in a few feet to look around and realize that Philip wasn't around. Shoot. There was another guard there but he really didn't think the man would be helpful to him, and he nodded his head towards Riku as an instruction to stay there and watch over his beloved before he headed down the stairs.
What he really needed was- Yes! Perfect timing for his cousin to come wandering into the courtyard, without his parents of course, looking around at the decorations and lovely lanterns that were set about the outdoor feast area and trying to look at everyone who had arrived, and was arriving (none of the ladies yet of course, mostly the young men, which meaned that Sora needed to get back to his viewing spot!) and saw the Prince make a beeline for him.
"Good evening cousin," he said, and was practically interrupted by the fidgeting Prince. "Yes hello Roxas." Roxas wasn't what he was really looking for, but the man that was following him rather diligently. "Hayner, help. I let my guard off for the night and you are the only competent person that I know."
"I am standing right here," Roxas complained, and Sora pat him on the shoulder while ignoring him, which just put him into the famous royal pout anyway.
