Riku had never ASKED for a court, and it really made him feel a little awkward. Sure, the boy had come in handy to keep an eye on his sister, but Riku didn't NEED a court. Not yet, any way. Maybe Sora could look out for him until Riku actually had the need for a court. Anyway, Riku liked the boys that Sora had... he was happy being friends or at least acquaintances with them.
Oh yes! The Autumn tournament! "I most certainly will," Riku promised, putting his hand earnestly over his heart. "And I will present you with a token of my favor, so that everyone will know that you fight in my honor, and that I will place my hopes in no one but you." He'd ask Kairi to help him think of something appropriate... and obvious. "And my heart will race every time you fight, for excitement," and concern about Sora's safety, "And sore with every opponent you bring down. And later, I will reward you for wearing my token."
If Richard heard anything suspect, he was wise enough not to mention it and just smiled like he had literally just joined the conversation. "I have been well, Your Majesty, thank you. I left for a couple of weeks, to return home and see to my home, and only just returned a few nights ago."
