Oh she was hoping to shrink behind the guard and no one would notice her. But she was going to be on the look out for Riku for sure. She couldn't wait to see her brother, and still wasn't over how good it felt to really call him brother.
Honestly, Sora was excited to show Abe his home. He never thought Hollow Bastion exciting but, Abe was young and wide eyed like Sora had never been. Excited to introduce him to the other friends he had made (they were friends, right?) and show him around the castle and the city. Excited to present him to his Father. To watch over his training and growth, and offer him every opportunity he wanted, because he earned it. Getting into the Prince's high favor was difficult and rare, and he'd done it just by being kind and paying attention. It was great!
The Prince was trying so hard not to be nervous, but there were SO many people looking at, smiling at, waving at, cheering and singing at him. He didn't know if he should feel proud or terrified, but his cheeks were turning pink and Kairi kept putting a reassuring hand on his arm in between waving and accepting the flowers that she was being given.
The Prince felt like his heart was going to explode a little. A place had been set up in the courtyard for the King and Queen to sit and receive their daughter and the nobles that lived at the castle. A small feast had been prepared for them, along with a hoard of servants and hired help to unpack their horses while they relaxed and ate. All of the parlors and halls were opened and cleaned, staffed with servants, and the cooks knew to make up tea trays for those that would be catching up and telling stories late into the night.
"Abe," the Prince said as they got closer to the gates. People were waving like crazy and throwing bushels of lucky pants at their horses feet. "You are welcome to find your brother immediately, but please come find me this evening."
