Tifa wanted to pull her son closer and pet his hair and calm him down... but... that would be really inappropriate, wouldn't it? To try and baby him now when he was asserting himself as an adult. And he was an adult. He was 20 years old, more than old enough to marry and begin a family, and had really begun to emerge from his self-imposed cocoon.
The fact that he'd sent Riku, into public no less, wearing his flowers was an action that couldn't be taken back. People had seen him, they'd talked to him, and even if he were to disappear now, he'd be remembered whenever Sora did marry.
Riku nodded and was glad that he hadn't mentioned the extent of the Prince's injuries. That wasn't public knowledge and it WASN'T his place to go around telling people how injured he had been, and still was. Better for everyone to think he was healing fast than for them to know the real stages of his recovery.
"I am sad to hear that," Riku confessed to Lord Moore, "His Majesty took me to the theater once before. He even met with the troop on performance there. He will be saddened to hear of the damage done, but I know he will be interested in its restoration." Actually, he'd be upset to hear of ANY damage, though they all knew it was a real fact of war. All they could do was try and rebuild as well they could.
