"But," Sora protested. Riku was his fiance. Basically. It wasn't something that was 'not right now'. Riku was already part of their family!
But...he knew that his parents didn't understand the family they'd created while they were at the keep. He knew this was something that they hadn't talked about. But Riku must be tired too, and hungry, and he'd taken care of Sora all the way home and Sora didn't want to be without him. The Prince buried his face in his Father's shoulder.
"I have not much left bed in weeks," he commented. So of course he'd lost weight. They lived on rations there, not just whenever and however much they could eat.
The Prince's Uncle had come to the courtyard where supposedly the Prince was arriving, but it looked like his Parents had gotten to him already, judging by the fact that the horses were being led away, unpacked, and only Sora's fiance to be was left in the courtyard. In some ways, Cloud felt for the boy. He understood what it was like to be pursuing a royal romantically and not really be accepted by everyone else. Thankfully, his Father and Mother in law accepted him, but he was still kind of an outcast, and that feeling still lingered at times.
"Riku," he addressed the boy (that was his name, yes?) "Welcome home." He held out his hand in a sort of greeting. They weren't really family yet so hugging wasn't appropriate.
