Riku didn't clue in as quickly as Sora, that they were nearing home. But even he couldn't mistake Hollow Bastion rising in the distance.
Now that they were getting closer, Riku could see the damage that the fighting had done. Scorched earth. Damaged trees. But Riku told himself to have help.
"Your father the King will be proud of you," Riku promised, hoping he was right.
"They will have spotted us by now," Philip said. From the towers. "They know we are coming."
They'd be alerted. Maybe they were on their thrones. Or taking a late tea. Or handling paperwork and economic matters. Stopped in the middle of whatever they were doing to be told that their son's banner had been spotted, moving slowing, but coming straight at them.
