The Prince was not a fan of the ride the rest of the way, but when he started recognizing the scenery as the sun was setting he ignored the searing pain in his back and the aching in his arm and how tired he was. When they were out of the mountains and crossing the flat ground he could see Hollow Bastion in the distance.
"I feel nervous," he said. About so many things right now.
"About what, Your Majesty?" Barty had to ask.
"I am concerned about the city. We have been living locked away for most of the invasion. Letters were not able to exactly be clear on what was going on." What if much of the city had burned? What of his home, the castle? What if there were people gone from this world he expected to be there when he got home? "What my Father will think of me." He would see him soon, less than an hour they had left to ride.
