"It is a dangerous, costly move," General Rotharr agreed quietly. "Many will die. But at least they will die fighting on their own terms, instead of waiting for the Galbadians to bring the fight to them." The same amount of men would die, maybe more, if they waited.
"Better to have the safety of retreat, than no where else to go." As long as they could close the door, there would be a further line of defense.
