"I thought the same thing," the Prince replied. "That is why I made the decision." He was glad they were on the same page and Riku wasn't upset or anything.
"So quickly sweetness can turn bitter," the Prince sighed. "There will be more mornings. Think, Riku. After the battle...perhaps it will not be long before we can go home." They would be safe to communicate with the capital again, see what was going on. As scary as this was, it meant the war could be over soon.
"Good," the Prince agreed, putting a hand over Riku's. Then those pieces of them would be safe.
"I am proud of you," he told Riku, moving back to put two hands on his face. "You wanted to fight. Look at you, a Trabian soldier, my brave and strong Riku." The Prince smiled.
