"I would appreciate that," Riku agreed, trying not to think of the Prince posing a target. It made him feel even more scared about the upcoming battle. "You promised that you would come back to me," Riku reminded him, "Do whatever you must." Even if it was leaving the battlefield if it got to dangerous.
Riku went over to their bed and crawled up next to the Prince. "'Whatever you like, dear, indeed," he echoed a little, pulling the Prince against him. "I would like, hmmm," he nuzzled the back of the Prince's neck, "Sweet milk, with sugared fruits, thin slices of rabbit on fresh bread, cool chunks of watermelon, and a hot bath with my beloved, if you please." Maybe another year, on another birthday.
"I would like you to consider laying with me," Riku said more seriously, "Intimately. Before this battle happens. Incase the worst should happen, and we never get another night." He'd been thinking about it for sometime now. People would die during the fight. Either of them could die, for no lack of other people's attempts in the opposite. "I want you to be my first. I want to be yours," Riku whispered softly, running his hand along the Prince's arm. "Say you will consider it?"
