Sora watched Riku, and looked down at the ribbon around his wrist. Some days, he felt doubt and fear that Riku would choose his family, his home country, over the Prince. Then some days, he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Riku was his forever. Like right now. How could Riku possibly leave him? He wouldn't.
It was polite not to tell him. Riku standing there so beautiful and calm, to tell him how badly the Prince and Corin were fighting over him, he couldn't do it. The Prince wanted this harmony to go on, wanted Riku to have both. He just couldn't give up Riku's heart back to his family. The Prince reached up to tuck Riku's wayward hair behind his ear, though it did little good. "You have mine as well, Riku. Please remember that." Sora's heart was split between Riku and his country, and Sora must choose his country.
