Sora almost choked on his soup. Once he had safely put his spoon down, he looked at Riku. He couldn't be serious. Not only had he been working, that was one thing. If anyone had seen him over there...Riku was betrothed to the PRINCE. Despite his upbringing, working was NOT appropriate for him anymore.
And earning money for his freedom? What was he thinking?! Riku was wasting his time working under soldiers to gather a few coins for something that ultimately wouldn't matter? Hadn't they had this discussion? It was, it was practically insulting to himself, to his Father the King, that he couldn't wait for their marriage? Riku was so fixated on this that not only would he rather spend his time doing servant work for strangers than spending it with the people he would one day rule over? Than...than spending it with Sora?
Or should Sora just face the reality that now he knew his family, Riku was trying as hard as he could to become free in time for him to leave with the Trabians. Sora looked down into his soup, and nodded a little. "I see." To think that all this time that Sora lie awake in bed, waiting, Riku had been out working to get away from him. He didn't know if he was more upset or angry.
Certainly he had lost his appetite. He couldn't even think of how to yell at Riku properly right now without coming to tears or saying something too harsh. So he set his soup aside, pulled the covers back and got out of bed. "I am taking a bath." Where he could be alone and possibly calm down, or at least cry privately. The Prince grabbed some clean clothes and a towel and went into the washroom, shutting the door behind him.
