Namine nodded along with Riku. "For a little girl like me that no one wanted, I was blessed to be brought to Hollow Bastion. All the servants and non-contracted workers are treated as family. The Prince's cousin counts many of the servants as his closest friends. I know the Princess does of Olette," she hoped someday, herself as well. "The Master of the House is like a Father to us. I have never suffered, and have rarely been truly unhappy." Of course unhappy at times, but never really outright depressed about her life. "However...different the Prince used to be, it was not too unnatural for him to befriend Riku." The falling in love was likely an accident, but there you go.
Namine didn't know if any of that helped Corin understand at least a little, either of their situations. "I believe you, Corin," Namine told her oldest brother. Why not believe that their parents always thought about their lost children? Maybe not constantly, and maybe they had given up hope of finding them, but she didn't think she had been forgotten. She had often thought about her real family, too.
"But even if you wanted us to come home with you," Which, why would he? "We can't."
