Hi, I was hoping to get some advice-- I'm considering buying an epilator. 

Are they effective? Terrible? Easy to use? Incredibly painful? Very expensive? Worth it? Am I right in my assumption that they could only be used on my legs, so I'd need to continue using other means on other areas? Is there any point buying one if it's just one more part of a regimen that doesn't really replace another part?

Any comments, advice or recommendations would be welcomed!

This thing is so simple but such a last-minute stress-saver I can't even begin to tell you! Even if a deodorant/antiperspirant is labeled as invisible, it's often not... well, on black clothing anyway. Though I'm rather slack when it comes to makeup, I do so love me some good dresses! I'm curious if anyone else here is a dress fiend, and if so, who are your favorite designers? Or alternatively, favorite styles?

Currently, I'd have to go with Tadashi for being comfortable but stylish, but Vivienne Tam is probably my all-time favorite designer because of the Buddha/dragon print dresses and skirts she's made.

You know what need to cease to exist?

Short sleeved sweaters.

If it's cold enough to wear a sweater,  yo, it's too cold for short sleeves.

And don't get me started on short sleeved TURTLENECKED SWEATERS.

I grasp that sleeveless turtlenecked sweaters might be useful under a jacket or a cardigan or shirt, to keep your arms from being too bulky or you from getting too warm indoors.

But short sleeves?

Pointless. Unflattering. Wrong.

Dear clothing manufacturers,

You have created pants that you describe as "flattering" or even as "flattening your tummy." Allow me to explain something to you. I will use very small words.

If your pants squish your tummy fat, it will have to go somewhere. It does not, contrary to any desire you or I might have, simply vanish. Nor does it push into the empty cavity of your body, because your body is already full of important things like organs and bones and, perhaps sadly, visceral fat.

There is, in other words, nowhere for the fat you are squishing to go but up and over the waistband of said "tummy-flattening" pants.

I am going to make my mother-in-law's dog into a rug. I am babysitting sweet little Abby, the yellow lab, for three weeks. This morning I was trying to hold her back, to get her to stop jumping on the plumber, she bolted and RIPPED MY GEL FINGERNAIL OFF!!!!!

It broke way way below the French nail line and it is bleeding everywhere. (aarrgghh, swoon at sight of blood...) My manicurist, the only one I trust within forty miles I might add, is in Mexico right now, the lucky gal.

Any advice on what I do for it? Dry open air, keep covered? I have never had this happen before because I wear them really short, so I don't know if it can be fixed right away...

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love and worship my labradors even my mother-in-law's. But I am a complete and utter wimp. So right now, a little bit, I might hate my lovely dogs….
