She had gone on a long walk after lunch. There hadn't been a location in mind - there rarely was - but the witch had walked a long way around the lake and a bit into the forest. It did not frighten her, and she had walked through forests for a great portion of her life. Her wits had been about her, and her feet didn't wander too deep into the forest, but she liked it there. The sun was notably lower in the sky by the time she made it back to the castle, and there was a little mud on her boots. Their tracks through the castle led the way to the Ravenclaw Tower, albeit by a circuitous route that went past many great views of the outside of the castle.
Entering the common room, with her thoughts turning and considering the question the door knocker had asked her, the witch had meant to first shower before anything else. The grime did not truly bother her, just as the mud on her shoes didn't, but showers were a daily activity, at a minimum, and she preferred to launder clothes before sweat or dirt stained her white blouses. But her thoughts and routine were interrupted upon a sight in the common room. It was no commotion or loud noise or experiments with egg yolks. No, Ian was sitting, without drawing most anyone's attention to himself, looking most...hmm, she did not know what was on his mind, despite the slate of emotion on it.
Thus, the witch made a beeline for him, standing close and looking down. "You look most perplexed," Ophelia stated.
