WHO: Ryu and Willow
WHEN: Monday, breakfast time
WHERE: Great Hall and then just outside
WHAT: Love Potion Plot: Ryu falls head over heels for Willow
Complete!
PG
Putting down his glass Ryu wondered how he could have been so blind. How could he have been wasting his time on an ordinary girl like Audrey Hooper when there was a goddess right under his nose? Or in this case, sitting right beside him. Also, how had he been so stupid as to let said goddess get away from him, until he almost lost her to Danny Wood? Thank Merlin she dumped the guy, not that would have stopped Ryu from fighting for her - and winning. He was sure he would win. There was no way such pure, true love as what he was feeling now could lose.
Something had to be done. Ryu smiled at Willow, warmly... lovingly, and brushed her cheek with his fingertips before leaning in close. It didn’t matter they were in the middle of the Great Hall and others could see them, including Audrey. “Come with me,” he murmured, lips brushing hers before he abruptly leapt to his feet, grabbing her hand and forcing her to follow as he left the breakfast table.
Willow followed (not that she had much choice as Ryu had a death grip on her hand). She had to admit that she was intrigued by whatever got into Ryu and trusted him enough to believe that whatever it was had to be important. Ryu wasn’t generally the drag you out of the room type unless something important came up.
“Okay Ry, remember, your legs are longer than mine. Big steps for you means dragging me behind you like a purse caught in a car door.”
He was immediately stricken with remorse for his thoughtlessness. A few strides out of the Great Hall, Ryu stopped and turned to Willow, still holding her hand and capturing the other in his free one. There was a flush on his cheeks, an almost feverish glitter in his eyes as he looked at her. "I'm sorry, I just... I couldn't contain myself any longer, Will. I had to tell you how I feel... the revelation I just had."
Ryu moved in closer, so her hands were now against his chest and her back almost against the wall. "I love you," he said in a low, earnest voice. There was passion and sincerity in the tone and he squeezed her hands tightly. "I've been an idiot, I should have realized that Audrey wasn't the one. It was you, it's always been you."
Willow’s eyes widened and her breath caught in her chest. Something had to be going on. This wasn’t like Ryu at all but hearing him say that he loved her. She didn’t know until that moment just how much she’d wanted to hear it from him. How much she still cared about him.
“You...you can’t mean it, Ry. You aren’t acting like yourself. There’s something...not right. I want to believe you. But. You don’t do things like this. You’re methodical. There must be another reason.”
“I mean it, Will, I really do. Maybe I am acting wild right now, but you know I’m capable of it,” Ryu leaned in more, one hand letting go of hers and shifting to rest on her hip. The glitter in his eyes increased in intensity as he spoke. “I just can’t keep it in any more, my feelings are just bursting to come out!”
He exhaled and his eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at her. “Maybe this will convince you,” he said and then claimed Willow’s lips with his own in a passionate kiss.
There was no thinking once Ryu kissed her. She’d missed this. The easy intimacy combined with the heat. It was something she’d continued to look for since they’d broken up but hadn’t managed to find. With everyone else it had always seemed to be one or the other.
She kissed him back with all the feelings she’d been ignoring over the last few weeks completely oblivious to the fact that they were in a busy corridor.
Ryu didn’t care one whit that they were only just outside the Great Hall and not really well hidden either. There were already some younger students leaving and a couple noticed the pair, and quickly alerted others.
But for Ryu the only thing that mattered was the feel of Willow’s lips on his and her body pressing against him, which only inflamed the passion inside him. He kissed her hungrily, parting her lips, nipping at them and delving into her mouth with his tongue, stroking hers and coaxing it to play.
Willow kissed him back arching her body against his. Enjoying simply being with him again. Though after a few moments of kissing him reality came crashing down.
She pushed Ryu back far enough so she could speak though in all honestly there was still barely a whisper of air between the two of them.
“Audrey.”
Ryu resisted at first, not wanting to part from her, but then allowed it, although his arms remained around her, holding her close.
The name meant nothing to him for a moment, causing a puzzled expression to flit across his face, but then he remembered. However, he didn’t immediately jump back or even look guilty. To Ryu right now, Audrey was yesterday’s news and only Willow matter. In fact, it was only because the subject obviously mattered to her that he didn’t just brush it off and pull her into a kiss again.
“I don’t love her, Will, and I’ll tell her so,” he traced the line of her jaw, fingers brushing over her lips. “I’ve been deluding myself.”
“You really think that?” she asked.
She didn’t mean to question a gift horse as it were but she wanted to make sure Ryu was certain that he didn’t have feelings for Audrey before anything else happened.
“I know that,” he said firmly, looking her straight in the eyes, mentally willing her to see the sincerity and conviction he was feeling. Clearly he’d been weirdly dazzled by Audrey and blind to the truth, Ryu decided.
“You. Are. The. Only. One. I. See,” he punctuated his words with kisses, each one getting more passionate. Had he been in full command of himself, Ryu would have realised he was acting remarkably unlike himself. Yes, he could be spontaneous, but forgetting himself completely in public was almost unheard of. Yet he felt no shame or embarrassment that they had an audience, mainly because he wasn’t aware they existed, his vision was full of the girl he was kissing on the lips, jawline, and neck.
Willow melted into his kisses, really what girl wouldn’t, but slowly her senses returned to her (again) and she reached up to cup his face in her hands.
“Be that as it may, Ry, I know you. And in the entire time that we were together we did some crazy things but you would never make out in the middle of the great hall and you would never make out with me while you still have a girlfriend.”
It broke Willow’s heart to say that to him, to push him away because it was genuinely the last thing she wanted to do right now. But it was the right thing and she knew that once Ryu came to his senses he would be happy that she did it.
“We’re not in the middle of the Great Hall,” Ryu objected, feeling it was very important to point that out, even if they were only just outside it. He pouted, looking utterly dejected by her rejection. “Don’t you feel the way I do?”
If she didn’t, he would find a way to change her mind. As for the piddling little matter of girlfriends, well, he was going to take care of that one very shortly.
Willow bit her lip, her sinking feeling that something was very wrong warring with her desire to tell him the truth. Finally the truth won out.
“Do I love you? Yes. Do I think this is the wrong place to be doing this and am I worried about your girlfriend yes.”
Ryu’s face lit up when Willow said she loved him and he couldn’t restrain himself from hugging her tightly. “I knew it!” he exulted before letting her go.
“Don’t worry, I’ll tell Audrey now and if you want privacy, we’ll have privacy - anything you want, it’s yours!”
Willow couldn’t help but laugh at Ryu’s theatrics. This was a side of Ryu that people didn’t often see, silly impetuous though he’d honestly never been this extreme. And there was something about it that still niggled at the back of Willow’s mind but she was honestly too happy to fuss about it too much.
She leaned in and kissed his cheek, “Go talk to her then we can find someplace secluded to get to know each other again.”
