Feigning: OOC

Dear all,

This is not an email that either of us wanted to write, but unfortunately we feel it is necessary.

First of all, we owe you all an apology for our lack of activity. We realize that, as mods, it is our job to model the activity we ask of you, our players, and we recognize that we have not lived up to that over the past month. We attribute this to a combination of personal obligations and a lack of motivation stemming from and contributing to the slowness (and, in many cases, absence) of the game as a whole—and we’re guessing this is also true for a lot of you. Just as we are sure it has been difficult for you all to find the impulse to post new entries when you see few (or no) comments on others, it has been difficult for us to put in the effort that game-wide events require when we do not have people responding to or using them. We recognize that it is a self-perpetuating cycle, and it is one that requires a lot of energy to break once full entrenched in it, as we are.

For these reasons, we have determined that Feigning is not working for you or for us—and sadly, we both have major RL events coming up very quickly that mean we cannot devote the time that giving the game a jolt of energy and activity would require and deserve.

This means that we are stepping down as mods of Feigning. If any of you feel ambitious and passionate, we would be happy to turn over the game and the resources we have created to your care and control, but otherwise the game will close.

We wish you all the very best and hope to see you around the RP world in the future.

Hello everyone... My name is Jeremy, and I have someone new for you to play with.

Let me introduce you to Tad Hopkins. He's kind of a load of contradictions. He's a Wizard, but he's been studying at Oxbridge for the past year to get into music production. He's the son of a rock star, but he doesn't really want that getting out or flavoring his relationships with everyone. He's pretty handy with plants and potions, but he'd be most happy leading a completely muggle life and just hanging out in a recording studio all day. There is a lot of other stuff I could tell you about him, but I should probably just direct you to the app page, where all will be revealed.

Tad's big on music and football, and I'd like to get him going on the the student radio station as well. anything else, I'm very much open to. Hit me up... Oh hai. My name's Trinity. I'm 28 and from upstate New York. I'm excited to be here! I bring you the spawn of Hestia Carrow - she's just as fiery as her mother and aunt, and grand-aunt (Alecto). She's fiercely loyal to her friends. Her major is in Criminal Justice/Forensics/Pre-law, she's not sure of this whole muggle closeness thing. I'm horrible at intro's but here is all her information. Hey all! I'm Keeks and I was told about this game by no less than three people - <3 you guys! - so I finally gave into peer pressure and decided to app. I'm 24, a culinary school student, part-time cook and (hopefully) picking up my second part-time job here soon. This means my schedule is a bit weird, but I'm generally available at night, and always available through email (keeleyknn at gmail dot com).

I'm bringing in this boy, Robbie Bradley. He's 21, a former Gryff, and even more formerly a chaser on his house team. He's the son of Ben Bradley - a former Quidditch star turned publican - and Susan Bones, as well as being the oldest of eight siblings. He tends to be on the rumbly and grumbly side, but he wouldn't hurt a fly. Robbie has an air of authority about him, though he can be a little strict and somewhat judgmental. He has a deep-seated need to look after those who have nobody else looking after them, but as much of an idealist as he may be, Robbie is no dummy. He is also the one to turn to for help when you need to get things done; he doesn't just project competence, he practically oozes it.

Sorry guys, a load of RL bullshit is going on which is interfering with my roleplaying and it seems easier to drop this game than ones I've already started playing in, so this is me bowing out. Hope y'all have fun.

Kenzie again, bringing you the reason I’ve been a little scarce lately (lie: 4th of July and life kept me way busy) Colleen Creevey! Yeays! She is the daughter to Dennise Creevey and Gabrielle Delacour, and she’s full of personality, spirit, and a chase the moment attitude! She’s not a very complicated person, and is pretty much what she is on the inside as she is on the outside. Her bio is here if you’re interested, but the basics are:

* She’s a majoring in photography with a minor in art, and will not be seen without a camera either in her hands, around her neck, or stashed somewhere on her person for safe keeping. Also, the art pad tends to constantly be with her, though not to the same extent as her camera. Her hands tend to have dried paint of them, and there are usually coloured pencils somewhere on her person (pocket, holding her hair up, in her sock) just in case something hits her and she has to sketch it right than or it will be gone. If you’re doing something she finds interesting, you’re liable to get your picture taken. She doesn’t ask, she just snaps, quickly and fast and from all different angles. If she is suddenly laying on the ground beside you while you’re yoga-ing it up, I apologize for her because she won’t.

* She’s extremely friendly. She loves people in general, cares about their feelings and how they’re doing, whether she knows them or not, and will go out of her way to make someone smile or laugh if she thinks they’re having a bad day. She’s an amazing friend to have, will bend over backwards and upside down for those she cares about deeply, and will be beyond remorseful if she should hurt someone’s feelings without purposely meaning too. If she meant it, there was most likely a good reason, and she will dislike you for, like, ever. However, do not try and take advantage of her because of this, because she does not like being used, and will show her extremely rare angry side when done so.

* She’s that crazy environmentalist you don’t want to share a room with. She will change all your light bulbs to save energy, will unplug everything when it’s not being used, and make an exceptionally shocked face when something edible and perfectly good is thrown away in front of her. She doesn’t push her world views on other people, but she doesn’t slack in her own personal beliefs. So while she’s not going to press her roommate into going green, she’s probably going to be a bit of a butt head.

Sooooooo, the cab comes to get me in 30 minutes, when I shall be whisked away to New York for a couple days and then I will be at an institute in Yale for 5 days. I'll have internet at the hotel in CT, but I'll only be free in the evenings to tag because my days will be filled with lectures and seminars and poking around the Peabody museum :DDD

So, I won't be GONE GONE, but I will be slower tagging than usual. Just wanted to give a heads up!!

Feigning is officially open for business!

You are now free to post journal entries and threads, as well as send obnoxious texts on your characters' phones. We have our first plot event scheduled for Saturday, a concert and cookout/barbecue on the green—so until then, settle in! Kick back, let your hair down, stay awhile.

A few things to note:

Wizarding characters were told about the integration awhile ago, enough time to allow them to plan for the summer. Starting Monday, the 9th, they will have "crash" Muggle classes on sciences, maths, and history as well as receiving a reading list. Classes will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for six hours—that's two hours a day on each subject with one exception! The final hour of class on Wednesdays will be devoted to Muggle technology and pop culture.

Muggles (and squibs) can elect to take separate summer classes as well. However, all summer classes will be kept completely separate from the wizarding courses. While muggles can tutor wizards over the summer, they will not attend any wizarding classes.

Alison and I have been doing some brainstorming for game activities in the coming weeks, which before the fall term starts are going to mostly be social events designed to help the colleges begin to integrate.

So what we'd like to hear from you is your favorite collegiate social events, or even just ones that sound pretty cool! We've gotten started filling the calendar out here, but we want to hear what you would like to see!

Feel free to second (or third!) others' suggestions as well.

Heather again! Just in time before the game opens, I bring to you my 3rd (and thus far final, obvs) character, Kevin Whitby! Thinking about how the changes will affect him = delays, woe.

For those of you who were at Feinted, he's pretty much the same, only Mugglified. He does know about magic, though - his aunts are the Montgomery sisters from the books (they're his mother's younger sisters, muggleborn witches), so there's scope for him to have magical cousins in game later. He's also good pals with Ian Corner.

For those of you who weren't at Feinted, his full bio is here, but in summary -

* 3rd year Vet Science student. Dad is a civil servant for DEFRA (Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), Mum's a lawyer. Loves the outdoors but the extent of his sporting activity is being Deputy Chair of the Hiking/Outdoors Society Committee, and by virtue of his Equestrian society membership.

* Has a show on Student Radio (it's not really "his" show as he's one of a panel) called The Daily Review, which goes out at 9am every after news bulletins/announcements/early music shows have been on. It's recorded the evening before and is basically the panel taking about the issues of the day and the way they were presented in the press (mostly newspapers but also popular websites are discussed). For obvious reasons it's Muggle news, so this might be a draw to magical folks who want to know more? As a Vet Med student, he also pops up occasionally on other shows where animals or environmental issues are discussed.

* Personality wise, he's pretty much textbook nice guy (in fact, he worries that he's boring). If he'd attended Hogwarts, he'd have been in Hufflepuff, due to his values of hard work, dedication and loyalty.

Hello all! I'm Leah, a 25 year old computer graphic artist, part time secretary and part time tutor. I live in Ohio and am currently hating the 100 degree weather. It's just wrong. Seriously. I LOVE my tiny window unit right now.

I know a few of you here I think, but I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and getting to play together!

I'm bringing in Catriona Boyd catboyd. She goes by Cat, and probably won't respond to that half the time anyways. She's a 2nd year former Ravenclaw with a passion for clothes. She's a stubborn dreamer, and spends half her time in her own little world. Cat is friendly, a little odd, very sweet and definitely unique. She needs friends, maybe enemies (although she has a hard time making those), possible love interests that she can be oblivious about, and PLOTS.

If you're a feinted vet, you can snooze a while. Kinda. There have been some ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.

First up is

Dani de Mortmoncey - (this journal). She’s a 3rd yr, former Ravenclaw, studying part time since she’s a reserve beater for the Wimbourne Wasps! (They’re the closest team to London, I checked, so she can still live on campus), majoring in Wizarding Languages.
Dani's snarky-sweet, friendly, kinda bossy, studies hard and is a tiny wee pocket rocket on the pitch. She's used to being underestimated for size/gender/blood status reasons and revels in proving that wrong whenever possible. She’s technically a muggleborn, HOWEVER, she’s technically descended from the squib grandson of Laverne de Montmorcey, famous for her love potions in the nineteenth century. Her family lived in Saint-Sulpice, France on her grand-père’s cognac vineyards until she was eight, when they relocated to England after her paternal grandfather took ill, and Dani’s father took over running the family dairy farm. She’s always been a country girl and isn’t afraid of getting dirty, mucking in and working hard, part of what made her an attractive pro-quidditch prospect. She can girl it up though and loves shoes. And being right. She always think she is even when she’s not. Which is never.
(Plus there was that time Dani WON BIGGEST DRAMA QUEEN)

Septimius "Seven" Rookwood - (drdeathdefy) - is a second year, former Gryff. He's flexi-sexual, and will pretty much sleep with anything with a postcode, so long as it’s pretty enough, and he unsurprisingly won Most Likely to Snog Everyone back in the day. He says what he thinks, which usually is that most people are dumbasses. He’s a pureblood (not that he cares) majoring in Wizarding Communications, hoping to end up either as a quidditch commentator or radio DJ Or both, hence why he also has a a slot on the uni radio station. Sev's also a music nut, but doesn't actually play. I've taken to describing him as a giant, obnoxious, oversexed tool, which he totally is, but there's generosity up the wazoo there as well as rumours of a soul. Maybe.
