Pip's words caused Tommy to look up at him again, and he forced a smirk in response. "You and I both know that isn't true," Tommy argued, his fingers tracing over the side of the gun in his pocket before closing around his wand, "But it's sweet how you think so. It's good to have dreams."
He allowed himself to relax only slightly when Pip finally let go and stepped back, and let go of the other boy's wrist himself. With his now-free hand, he smoothed down the material of his shirt and rolled his eyes. "I doubt it's good for your health to be so bitter all the time," he quipped, giving the other boy the best amused look that he could muster, although it faltered as he continued, "I assure you, you won't find me walking your streets again after today."
